So this will be the first time then... :hihi:

Post

I don't think so ;-)

Post

Excellent stuff Yeager .... cheers for those two submissions .. :tu: ... which prevent this comp finishing with the least amount of entries of any comp .. :hihi: :phew:

Anyway, after a marathon 48 hours editing, mixing, cutting, rendering, remixing, mastering etc ... I have finished the film soundtrack!!

.... so, how long do we have? .. hmm.. about 12 hours and a bit? still plenty time to get one in :hihi: .. voting thread will go up tomorrow evening, and unless there are at least two more entries, we'll return to the one vote poll format.

Post

Congrats on finishing the soundtrack :) There's one thing missing from your list, though: back-up copies  Now be a good boy and just do that (not that you're gonna need 'em, but since my last computer crash, I tend to get scared when somebody puts so much work into something without making sure their ass is covered afterwards ;-) Call me Mr. Paranoid... )

Post

... No worries...all the project data, including the final wav mix is on an 8gb memory stick ... also well on in the process of uploading mp3 and wav versions for the the film maker to access, and have also uploaded the final product in seperate pieces so any last minute editing can be accomodated :)

... Weird weather here over the past couple of days, the lights flicker every so often and some neighbouring streets have had power cuts ... serves to remind me to save regularly and back up everything just in case :)

I will vote this time too, hope you guys had better luck with it than I had, I have a feeling many people have problems with this synth so it will be less contestants this time. This is one of few synth I've tried that just wont work.
It turned out the kittens mittens were hidden in the cats pyjamas all along.

suck my dongle

I think more folks have to pick up an old computer :hihi: ... but seriously, the advance in computers ( dual, quad, muti core ) have made it impossible to use some cool software! This is not the first synth to be problematic in a number of machines, and yet, other than cpu load, I have never had a prob with any of them! .... get yourselves an old second hand single core ... prob cost around £20 for something with 40 gig HD and 512Mb to 1Gb.... use it for extra storage and old progs!

Do your old synth stuff on it, render out the track wavs, and do the mixdown on the new computer ...or something like that :)

Post

I don't know when you intend to put the voting thread together, but I might have a track to submit by tomorrow (thurs) afternoon - if it's too late, oh well, nevermind.

Post

hakey, just pretend I'm still in bed ... upload your track and I'll not notice it was a measly few hours after the deadline :hihi:

Voting thread will be up this evening :)

Post

Great  I have got something very nearly ready... just got one tricky bit to solve.

EDIT. Okay, well it's nowhere near being a finished track, but I've uploaded it all the same -

Anubian Dubian

20+ Instances Anubis

Bootsie's Nasty CS (on drums)

2* Ambience

Live (EQ and *confession* I used Live's limiter on the master channel - I didn't have time to find a freeware limiter and, as it wasn't used to colour the sound, just limit some peaks, I didn't think it was too cheeky  . I'm sure that many freeware limiters would have done the job with little, if any, audible difference.)

The Anubis sounds were all my own.

Post

Cool hakey, I'll get the voting thread up soon :)

Post

Fudgesticks! I've accidentally converted my track to mono, before uploading it. Is it too late to reup the stereo version? If it is too late, well, I suppose original dub records were mono, so maybe it's more authentic, or something... :?
