Here we go again folks, hot on the heels of OSC13, with its incredible 27 entries, a new challenge is upon us. :-o

OSC14 will feature B.Serranos' 'Anubis'

Create a track using only Anubis for all the sounds, including percussion!

Download Anubis here...
http://www.kvraudio.com/get.php?mode=show&id=4016

* * * * * * THE RULES ( please read fully) * * * * * *
The track can be made in any host.

All the sounds in our tracks will be created by Anubis.

* * * FX * * *
Anubis has integral fx, so lets see ..... yeah, lets keep it frugal! ... same as last time really,

Fx are limited to
Reverb, Dynamics ( comp, limit, gate ), ... that's all you're gonna need! .. but I will allow EQ plugs ( inc. exciters etc ) and Stereo fx ( pan/autopan/width enhancers etc ).

..... Important!......
Other than the hosts native EQ,
All Fx used must .....
**be freeware, and easily available via download.
**generally usable in a wide range of hosts
**not be used in such a way as to transform the sounds to a degree
which makes them unrecognisable as those achievable from Anubis.
..... otherwise you will be excecuted!!!!! :x

*** There is no track length limit.

* * * * * How to Submit your Track * * * * *

**** Finished tracks, in mp3 format, should be uploaded here ...

http://OneSynthComp.4shared.com/

* Please post in this thread when you upload a track, that way I can prevent
abuse of this public folder. Anything uploaded without an accompanying post
here will be deleted.

For the sake of clarity, name your track in the following format ...

.... Title of Track - Artist Name ( in that order pleeeze! )

* Before you do that though, create a notepad/text file and describe briefly what you have used ( host, how many instances of Anubis, which fx, how many instances.. etc. )
....... keep it short though, that way it can be read in preview mode without the need to be downloaded.

Save the notepad/text file as the title of your track, that way it will sit above or below the track itself when you upload it, and not get mixed up with any others.
( feel free to post or PM me if you have any problems uploading )
**Please do not post seperate, external links to tracks you wish to be included in the comp.

CLOSING DATE for submissions is 31st of March

* * * * * How is the comp judged? * * * * *

The comp will be judged by the votes of KVR members. Depending on the number of submitted tracks, the voting may take the shape of a single vote poll, or a more flexible multiple vote option.

* * * * * And the prizes? * * * * *

@@ Rob_lee has again generously donated some patchbanks.

@@ Maxsynths has again generously donated a copy of Cryologic! .... but you'll have to wait until he's back on line to collect on this one! :help:
..... Big, big thanks once again to Rob and Max for their superb, continued support! :tu:

... And I await other offers ... which I will update here when I know more

.. ANY OTHER OFFERS OF PRIZES WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!
.. PM me, or post in the thread if you wish to support OSC by donating a prize.. ( A great way to 'Plug your plugs' ) :P

@@ I will once again rattle something together to add to the growing participants prize bundle.
.......... So, nothing to lose, and plenty of time! :)

**** Good luck with those tracks! ...... and have fun!!! ****

Just a heads up, it says synth1 rather than anubis in the part where you explain about the txt file :)

Haven't done an OSC yet. But seeing as i'm on a slight "creative break" from my usual work I think I may take A shot at this :D
I need a soundcloud ¬¬

Be careful with the low-pass filter of this one. :D

The vibrato seems a bit difficult to use without a midi keyboard.:( But fortunately I could get it to work without a keyboard. :phew:

Anyone know what the freq slider really does.
Does it just change the pitch of Osc2?
Also I don't know what spread on the filter does. :help: :oops:

We have another prize pledge! :)

So, in addition to rob-lee's soundbanks, possibly max's Cryologic, and himalayas soundbanks, Ziokiller has added his plugins to the prize pool.

... big thanks guys! :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu:

Only Mr.Serrano knows. And perhaps the gawd himself.

Aahh another osc synth to map all over my Kurzweil keybed. Who's complaining then :D
Haven't tried Anubis so I have no idea if I can get stuff done or not. Time will tell :wink:

Well K-Bee, you may have noticed the deadline has been set a little longer than usual, partly to take account of my own commitments, but hope it helps :)

Actually I hadn't but that's very nice. It should give me time to fiddle around with a remix I'm working on too.

Anyone else experiencing Anubis suddenly locking up where its meter is maxed in a sort of feedback or whatever, overloading ASIO and stopping all sound?

Switching it on and off doesn't help, I have to restart the whole DAW to sort it. This happens with alarming regularity now.

Also it will suddenly start to crackle, I suspect this is the start of the 'feedback lock' problem described above..
