FL Studio Mobile 1.1 update will be submitted to apple on the 16th of July 2011. It will be available through iTunes 4-7 days later (so long as they don't reject it).IncarnateX wrote:Great newsImage-Line wrote:

Cool. If this developes along the same lines as the computer version then this is surely going to quickly become one of the best of its type on the ipadImage-Line wrote:FL Studio Mobile 1.1 will be available soon here's what you can expect:

We have to be one of the most innovative and generous companies in this industry, with a track record second to none, and all people can do is whine about what V1.0 of FL Studio Mobile can't do (as if we are not aware of any of that). 1.0 was a great running start.

1.0 is probably a great running start for the iPhone 4 and possibly even the iPhone 3GS but it's unusable on an iPhone 3G, on which it hangs, stutters, and completely loses timing after previewing a few instruments.Image-Line wrote:We have to be one of the most innovative and generous companies in this industry, with a track record second to none, and all people can do is whine about what V1.0 of FL Studio Mobile can't do (as if we are not aware of any of that). 1.0 was a great running start.

We don't have reports of these issues on the 3G, have you tried reinstalling the app?Uncle E wrote:but it's unusable on an iPhone 3G, on which it hangs, stutters, and completely loses timing after previewing a few instruments.
We suggest bringing your issues to the attention of the development team here. We can't fix what we don't know about

nope, so far my 2 biggest complaints were your rep's insistence that synthesisers aren't workable within mobile apps, despite them working fine in other apps...i guess including them denies you the extra cash by selling them independently...it would certainly fit with the impression i get from your pricing tactics (the other complaint)
at a time when universal apps are 'de rigeur' you stand out as not offering one, not offering a reduced price upgrade path from one platform to another and even charging a premium for the ipad version...
does the ipad version offer more functionality ??

Yes you do. You got a brand associated with high expectations...and with that comes big dissapointment if everything is not delivered from day one.Image-Line wrote:We have to be one of the most innovative and generous companies in this industry, with a track record second to none
Yes that is a bad approach. Thus I bought it well aware of it's restrictions and found great pleasure in the quality of the samples and the step seq. Expectations is not something objective but a state of mind. However that state can be altered by facts, so people should really do some research before buying, like reading feature lists and watch YouTube demos.Image-Line wrote: and all people can do is whine about what V1.0 of FL Studio Mobile can't do
That said: In your league of brand and quality listening to whining is part of the deal. Take it as a compliment. It shows that many people are willing to throw money at your products on basis of faith alone. That can not be that bad
(Besides: If the updates are coming at this rate, nagging will only be for natural born naggers who nags for the sake of nagging..... and those you will never get rid of!)

FWIW, the app works nicely on an iPod Touch 8g 3rd gen (really 2nd gen). I usually switch between latency settings for recording and editing, but that's fine.
Thanks for the coming update. I am really enjoying the app, and am looking forward to the new features.

Agree (but no complaints). You can certainly have synths within mobile apps.ebow wrote:my 2 biggest complaints were your rep's insistence that synthesisers aren't workable within mobile apps, despite them working fine in other apps
Some facts on this issue:
Nanostudio's synth Eden is very low on CPU. It has an extensive modulation matrix and waveforms can either be samples or from the VA section.
Here are the specs:
•Maximum polyphony - 16 voices per synth
•2 anti-aliased oscillators per voice, each with 36 basic waveforms including noise
•Oscillators can be mixed or sync/ring modulated
•Resonant filter per voice - low pass, band pass or high pass with 12dB or 24dB slope
•Samples can be used in place of basic waveforms
•4 LFO's, optional sync to note start/sequencer tempo
•3 ADSR Envelope generators (amp, filter and aux)
•2 X/Y controllers, 1 configurable control knob, pitch bend wheel and accelerometer input
•Virtual patchbay for connecting controllers, LFO's and envelopes and other synth parameters
•2 dedicated insert effects (waveshaper, chorus/flanger/delay) with automation
•192 Global presets (shared between all projects) and 64 Project specific presets
These facts speaks for themselves, so no further debate needed.
However, whether Image Line implement synths are indifferent to me or at best just icing on the cake, as far as I always can make some synthlines or just waveforms in the upcoming version of FL mobile and paste them for further processing in Eden. Gonna be a fine combo, that's for sure.

i don't really care too much, either way.....the facts you listed are known to so many of us that it's a little crazy for someone to come along and tell us it's not posible (and infer that most of us have no clue of what i possible, citing that most users overestimate the power of ios hardware)...or maybe no one on their developing team checked the current apps

I've only had an ipad 2 for a couple of weeks. It's been great so far. But looking through the App reviews on the itunes store I've noticed people can be pretty brutal with the write ups. The reviews rarely offer any insight into an App because they can veer from one extreme to the other! It can be as polar as, 'best App I've ever used' to 'absolute gash. I want my money back!'.Image-Line wrote:That's the plan.Dogboy73 wrote:Cool. The App World seems to be a very cut throat one & your brave entering into it IMO. But being an FL user from it's humble beginnings on PC (although I must admit I've not used it for some time on a computer) I'm confident FL ipad will definitely be one to watch. It seems to have got off to a fairly solid start, if you discount all the complaints about what it 'can't do'. FL started off life as a simple beat maker on PC. Look at it now! Ipad FL will be monster (and no. I don't work for Image-line

Sample-based is fine for me. Pardon my skepticism but it's taken us long enough to decent sounding VA's on our computers, I'm not holding my breath for anything good on my phone.IncarnateX wrote:Nanostudio's synth Eden is very low on CPU. Where I feel that UVI got it right with Electrobeats is the samples are pre-processed, therefore my phone isn't being asked to do much aside from sequence and playback. I'm looking forward to loading my own sounds into FL Studio Mobile 1.1.
