Free version is obviously an SSL 4K, as I'm sure has been pointed out, with a fixed auto release that is sloooooooooow. And that meter is a joke.
Sounds pretty good, though. Worth the licensing hassle.

This is such a silly train of thought. I mean really. Jesus. calm down.ttoz wrote: Angus has not said here in any way shape or form "don't worry we won't be doing a no brainer on this one in the forseeable future"
so my HONEST advice is wait it out if you really like it and get it for $20 in a few months as i feel that's what will happen.

Is it just me or is this freecomp one of the most transparent compressors around?
Really I literally can not hear it do anything other than reduce the volume slightly. It does just about nothing to the overall perception of the original sound. Hardly any pumping at all and only distortion if it's pushed too hard.
I am really stunned. But then you guys obviously are serious about these plugins and put the work in. I bet the whole suite is very useful. Looks good.
Very impressed guys. Will likely demo the suite when I have some money.
Edit - This is not an intro price is it?

Maybe we just need to try some reflective listening ...JD Gaffe wrote:This is such a silly train of thought. I mean really. Jesus. calm down.ttoz wrote: Angus has not said here in any way shape or form "don't worry we won't be doing a no brainer on this one in the forseeable future"

"You know, that sounds terrible. I don't know how you deal with all of the free stuff companies are giving away. And those sales, I know they must be rough on you."
Result ...

Added to the best free compressors list, IMO, along with Blockfish, Density III, Thrillseeker, Molot, TDR Feedback, & DC1.Aiynzahev wrote:Is it just me or is this freecomp one of the most transparent compressors around?

It's getting to the point where my erstwhile life-or-death-necessity UAD plug-ins are getting less and less love.
I'm almost afraid to try the bundle as I don't really have 99 spare dollars at the moment.

Yes but as far as transparent goes, I've not even heard a commercial plug-in like this.A.M. <hard-nosed biz hat> The etch no brainer was an experiment in reaching new customers from an external customer pool to our own, and in boosting the userbase to a self-sustaining critical mass - important when physical old-school marketing methods are looking up Mr Triceratops for a High Tea date. On the first, the majority of people reached we already had contact with; on the second, it was a success, but at a good will cost that made it marginal. It is highly unlikely we will be repeating this experiment with similar parameters of timing & discount any time soon.</hard-nosed biz hat>

please please please please do another no-brainer!!! This new Dynamics Pack and/or Geist! OR Maybe buy Geist, get the Dynamics pack at no additional charge! In any event..
DCam FreeComp is a dream on bus channels!
It actually does a good job on individual tracks too, pulling out details I didn't even know where there in many of my channels. I can only imagine what the full dynamics pack can do.

Incredible freebie. thank you thank you thank you!!!
