I can't be the only one who is checking up every few hours to see if the update has dropped? It's driving me nuts waiting. I wish they would just release it without telling anyone first so I didn't have to endure the wait.

The only thing I need ...and i say ONLY!!.. is for presonus to steal that smart tool from pro tools!! I would work wayyy faster in studio one..everything else is wayy ahead of pro tools.

Unfortunately, compared to PT, S1 is still missing:A.R.M. wrote:The only thing I need ...and i say ONLY!!.. is for presonus to steal that smart tool from pro tools!! I would work wayyy faster in studio one..everything else is wayy ahead of pro tools.
- edit cursor
- good color scheme
- adding inserts across multiple tracks simultaneously
- ability to edit layers without promoting first
- ability to generate layers when outside of loop recording mode (for example, on overlap)
- EuCon support
- scoring
- clip gain
- good automation editing workflow
Of course, PT is missing plenty from S1 as well, so there we have it

I can't comment on most of your wishlist but S1 has had per clip gain handles at the top of all audio clips since version 1.5Lives wrote:Unfortunately, compared to PT, S1 is still missing:A.R.M. wrote:The only thing I need ...and i say ONLY!!.. is for presonus to steal that smart tool from pro tools!! At least you can grab one of the "dots" and move it to something off the curve if you wanted. You couldn't do that in EnergyXT.
I actually prefer the way they've done it in Studio One. You can also apply "transform" to a curve to elongate it/shorten it etc - way better than a lot of DAWS (IMHO).

No you CAN. Just add as many dots as you want (in Energy XT2). In Energy XT2 (And Logic) you can change the exponential envelope in positive and negative (up or down) way very fast. It's really bad in Studio One. I don't know what they were thinking there. Even Live 9 will have this cool curve automation!Dunc wrote:At least you can grab one of the "dots" and move it to something off the curve if you wanted. You couldn't do that in EnergyXT.

I know that and that's great, but PT's clip gain implementation is waaaaaaaayyyyy more powerful and useful.twoifbysea wrote: I can't comment on most of your wishlist but S1 has had per clip gain handles at the top of all audio clips since version 1.

There are loads of updates, but since they haven't been specific who knows. It may be there or it may not.hibidy wrote:So I'm guessing that a CPU optimization is out? Or is there any actual discussion of that?

Agreed - it needs proper curves.Igro wrote:No you CAN. Just add as many dots as you want (in Energy XT2).
