You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

Is it still 2 main OSCs with a Sub?

AGGGH I cannot wait for this synth.. seeing this thread made me thing it was out.
for some reason I just know I'm going to love it. Dune is already great, and so easy to get results from. If it has full blown wavetables.. so long every other synth I care about.

Some strange logic and contradictions herefluffy_little_something wrote:Well, I would feel odd if that tv were offered free a I know it is worth much more. The only things you would want in life are things that are exclusive and cost money??? A ferrari might be a bad analogy but think of anything else in your house, say a tv, would you not take a free 50in tv that might only be missing the remote just because it was available for free and everyone could have them and they only had to purchase a 5$ universal remote to use it?
I am not at all into luxury or exclusive stuff, though, don't get me wrong. My current favorite synth cost less than 20 bucks and basically I am happy with it. Still, Dune has always interested me for some reason, mostly because of the balance between sound and CPU load.

Does the new version have dual filters and can it load single cycle waveforms ?
No auto tune...

yes, but like on Roland analogue synth simpler : no env, no modulationdigitalboytn wrote:Does the new version have dual filters and can it load single cycle waveforms ?
but don't forget Dune2 has 8 voices, it's like 8 synths so if you need 3 filters set the number of voice to 3 and adjust your filter

Do you mean 8 layers? Because 8 voices isn't like 8 synths.carrieres wrote:yes, but like on Roland analogue synth simpler : no env, no modulationdigitalboytn wrote:Does the new version have dual filters and can it load single cycle waveforms ?

Ah, so now I understand what its architecture is! Hard to tell from just looking at the interface. So it's basically like Lush-101 etc. Eight synths bundled together, using a common interface, controlled via the Mod Matrix.carrieres wrote:i mean 8 layers but dune2 use the term voicesfmr wrote:Do you mean 8 layers? Is 2 backwards compatible with 1?

Dune and Dune2 are different from Lush-101, you should demo Dune to have a better idea how the 8 layers coexist

In Dune 1 you are able to program the 8 Unison voices differently using the mod matrix. This is where the name DUNE comes from (= Differntial Unison Engine). I guess it is the same here?carrieres wrote:No, both synth will coexisttoothnclaw wrote:Ah, so now I understand what its architecture is! Hard to tell from just looking at the interface. In Xils Lab Synthix you could program 8 voices of the Unison differently too which in the "worst case" ends up with being duophonic as there is a 16 voices limit.
BTW i was part of the beta team for DUNE 1 but for some reasons i did not apply for the Dune 2 testing, even if i still got access to the beta forum (downloaded the beta but could not use with my Dune 1 serial).
One important reason is that it turned out that it is not possible for me to cooperate with Kriminal and Teksonik (which is no secret at KVR...) who are very present at the Synapse Audio beta forum. Another is that i got enough other stuff to do at te moment.
At my Waldorf Pulse 2 thread Kriminal due to some remaining bugs more or less mentioned that some beta testers only particiapate to get a free synth but not to help fixing bugs. Based on that i would ask Richard not to send me a free license for DUNE 2 if he intends to do after reading this post.
At the end DUNE is still a great synth IMO so all the best for v2.
