What might be the real problem here is that they opened up about it far too soon compared to when they could actually deliver. Not good from a marketing perspective as they would have done far better working privately for 2 years then having a huge marketing push in the run up towards the v1 release. I think in many ways they've screwed themselves, but we'll see.
