im not sure where your qualification for "broken" comes from.Numanoid wrote:What are these bugs you refer to?chaosWyrM wrote:v7 is dead. no one said it doesnt work, or that it cant make beautiful sounds. its dead because its no longer supported and still has bugs. how does it make sense to pay for a broken product knowing full well that
The product can hardly be classified as broken, then it wouldn't load at all in DAWs.
a car that runs is still broken if just the transmission is bad.
as ive mentioned, my main issue is it frequently crashes when changing presets. it not only crashes the synth itself, but it crashes the daw as well.
you may use any definition for "broken" that you like...im using constant, frequent, daw crashing, project stopping, lock ups as mine.

really, I think your position is crystal clear.BBFG# wrote:We've hardly reach infinitum.
But it bears disputing anytime a cognitive distortion creeps up.
Once you've made a point, going on and on begins to seem like trolling.
I'll only say this once.

But still, when it does work it sounds wonderful.
So yeah, if it only works every so often then it is broken. Like it or not.

it DOES sound wonderful. i really do like it. and for what its worth the problems with v7 dont bother me because i knew before i ever installed it that it was unsupported. again...i didnt buy v7 i bought 4000 which included a free copy of v7.trimph1 wrote:Pretty much what it did a few times here.chaosWyrM wrote:im not sure where your qualification for "broken" comes from.Numanoid wrote:What are these bugs you refer to?chaosWyrM wrote:v7 is dead. no one said it doesnt work, or that it cant make beautiful sounds. its dead because its no longer supported and still has bugs. how does it make sense to pay for a broken product knowing full well that

as far as my (limited) interactions with williamk go...hes been great. always helpful and prompt responses from him...nothing to complain about there.
the entirety of my issues stem from the full completed version of 4000 being changed to "8000" after i already bought it. i was sold one thing and got something else...then asked for more money to get the thing i already bought.
everyone can argue 'till theyre all blue in the face...thats what happened and THATS why people got pissed off.
and its why i personally will never purchase a wusik product again....and i certainly would have.

It works fine for me too. It runs really well in FL Studio 11 on my laptop... I don't get why would someone call it "broken"...dnekm wrote:Anyone interested really should just download the demo and decide for themselves. It works fine for me , and I literally torture both V6 and V7 of Wusikstation....

My V7 had 'senior moments'. Sometimes it would forget where it left its programs. But not always. Can't even say often. But it was quite noticeable when it did. I also learned you had to wait a couple of seconds between the last note and a program change. 4000 didn't have that problem and finding itself was resolved in a later version. It would have been nice to have those two things back-ported to V7. IMO, it's really a shame it isn't supported now.
I think the person that said 'broken' was having regular crashes.
If that happened to me I would have considered it broken too.
Seriously would like to see the Station as a continued product and fully supported/updated.
Make 4000/8000 the single product modular we all expected when we bought into it.
And set EVE free to the world.
I might change my mind once 8000 is released and see if it truly supersedes the Station as promised.
But I still want to see it first before buying into projections.
And yes, the baiting has many of us feeling bitten.

Wait..... V7 stores your DATA location in a .xml file - was your DATA folder on an external drive?
Changing presets when there is still sound playing is just impatience....
And EVE is not free...
These are your complaints?

Guys, I haven't read all the comments, (bad or just nonsense) so take this with a grain of salt.
EVE was created 50% by me, and 50% by Luigi, when we had a company together called DashSignature, which was the result of a company I created alone, called DashSynthesis. We teamed together late with DashSynthesis and created DashSignature. Later I closed DashSynthesis and sold DashSignature to him, and he created LiqihSynth in between. After some time he sold back EVE to me. The name EVE was created by Klaus's wife from Back In Time Records (BITR), a sampling company. They also supplied almost all sounds to EVE. After I sold the company, DashSignature, I created some bank of sounds for EVE called Famous Keys. After some time I talked with Luigi if I could create a new company called Wusik and he was Ok with it. We even talked about using a similar format for samples, and he was also Ok with it. We were friends for a long time, and we are still friends, but we don't talk so often now. I visited him at one time, in Italy, when I sold the company to him.
Now, as for Wusik 8000, it IS released, but I named it Beta, but it is an official release, I just didn't make a big fuss about it. Is like the Fritzing PCB program, which has been Beta for YEARS.
Wusik 4000 is also been updated, so we never did a bait-and-switch scheme, shame on people who said we did, and I won't battle any remarks on that subject, you will discuss this alone if you wish to (I have better things to do with my life than feed trolls here)...
Wusik Station is a legacy product, but it works, so it haven't "disappeared". Is just that the idea for Wusik 4000 & 8000 is to slowly replace it. But this could change without further notice.
Again, I have said this for years and years, Wusik is NOT A COMPANY. Is just me, sitting in front of a computer, at home, trying to make a living out of it, and trying to support my wife and kid. And as someone said, I do have a Ferrari to support.
...... that was a joke, and we know it, good one btw. People think that devs are full with money, and that's just not true. The only reason I could keep developing for 15 years is that I live in Brazil, and have a simple life. Otherwise, I would be doing something else.
Anyway, as people said, try the demonstration version of Wusik Station and Wusik 4000, and see what we have done. Some love, some hate, but that's the way things are...
Best Regards, WilliamK

That;s what I was having too, in Nuendo on Windows 7 64 bit.chaosWyrM wrote:...............

..... .
It kept crashing the DAW (Nuendo would report Audio Engine has crashed) to the point that I had to reboot, and I beta test lots of music software and sometimes have to run alpha software and none of them ever do that on my machine. Wusikstation 7 was the first and so far only even a year later (well I removed it, but none have crashed like that since)...

4000 suddenly suddenly switched tracks to version 2, then 8000 long before an update to 4000, which you declared 'done' and then only did updates after to quiet the noise from so many's displeasure. No trolls in this regard, shame on you for that name-calling when people have been making valid points based on their experience.WilliamK wrote:Guys, I haven't read all the comments, (bad or just nonsense) so take this with a grain of salt.![]()

As you said, the idea is for 4000 and 8000 to replace WusikStation, so since it has issues and is no longer supported, it is only logical that the most economical thing to do for a new user is to only look at the latest version. Otherwise, one is paying for old versions already slated for replacement.
Beta is beta (paid for or not) and history has warned some of us that it's not in our best interest to purchase until some time has passed after becoming an alpha. Of course it's in your best interest for us to buy the same product three times and then get hit with some new addition to it for more. If your purchasing directly, wait for the official release of 8000 alpha. Don't buy the same product three times. And wait for one of the real sales where prices suddenly drop drastically.
My only suggestion to get it all is to join in the charity auction for the kids which is the whole Wusik bundle. If you can get all of them for around $30. and help out the children's fund, that is a great win-win.

wow...come on man you cant be serious. that is some shit right there calling people trolls who complain about getting charged extra to get things they already paid for. you can say whatever you want...but what you did with the whole 4000/8000 thing is the VERY DEFINITION of "bait and switch". its obvious and everyone can see it. how else do you explain so many people being upset? are we all just making it up? do you think we all got together one night over some beers and came up with a plan to be mad for no reason? shame on us? shame on YOU for doing it...and then shame on you again for denying it and trying to make the victims of your shady business dealings look like the bad guys.WilliamK wrote:Guys, I haven't read all the comments, (bad or just nonsense) so take this with a grain of salt.![]()

i personally had never said word one to anyone on this subject until this very thread. no one is trying to smear your name...were just letting people know what happened...because it DID happen.
we know youre trying to make some money and support your family. you know who else has a family? me, and i dont appreciate being asked to pay more money to receive something i already bought and paid for.
you can hide behind the "subject to change without notice" line all you want. that may protect you legally, but it doesnt change what you did. it was a dick move, and everyone knows it.

BBFG - you conveniently ignored me... That is okay...
There was a reason I asked if your DATA folder was on an external drive - but, you let that go...
Switching between presets whenever there is sound still playing is just a bad idea, and something I have incorporated into my workflow from the very early times... Again, it is just impatience...
Wusikstation is still a decent instrument, not a dead one as you so frequently say. And it shares the same soundsets with Wusik 4000/8000 - which I am still waiting to see what it turns into.
Consider it "dead, but dreaming", and the Old Ones shall annihilate us all...
