HOWEVER... two things stand out to me that kind of annoy me:
1) why is the BEAT Magazine part of the challenge with a sample set for their BEAT OWN Zampler, and why do they write "more on their magazine discs"?! This feels kind of like a slap in the face. Especially if they'll get into the top tiers.

2) Not that I don't like stuff by Wavesfactory, but wasn't there a Kontakt freebie years ago from whomever that did exactly that?!
In fact - it was from Wavesfactory themselves! viewtopic.php?t=380147
Agreed, as per the competition rules, these two entries should be discarded.

Your entry must be an original creation made by you (your team / crew / company / family). Of course you may reuse code / modules / development frameworks, but the actual plug-in / application / sound library should be a new, original creation, not just an obviously cut-down subset of a program you have already written.

Technically, the Beat-thing is a "Zampler RX sample set". But what bothers me is that it's from a well established Magazine and that they have the catch phrase "want more, get our mag".

And the Wavesfactory thing was previously released as Kontakt sampleset only. To this is a custom VSTi this time around. Think of BPB's "Clap" collection which is also available in pure sample form and VSTi. So that (the Snare Buzz VSTi) is a grey zone. But still not cool to revive a 5 year old thing as "challenge entry"

Thing is - we can criticize it - but I don't think that these two things won't be discarded/disqualified. Hooray for rules and fair price distribution (another thing that kind of annoys me with this year's challenge).

Hi, I am developer for Youlean Loudness Meter. I apologize for the problems you are having! This is my first C++ plugin and it was rushed to meet the deadline. Because of this it was not well tested. :dog: I am avare of the bugs, and fix might come in the next couple of days. If I understand correctly the plugin doesn't start on MacOS only? Windows is working?

Windows working fine here (Ableton Live 32bit)

From a quick look, the few that piqued my interest were Lord of the Springs, Noisetar and the granular delay, the demos sounded good, particularly the theremin on LOTS.

Lemme know how I can help! Is there a static link version of the library maybe that could be used?

for what it's worth typing,

if you like monosynths you'll probably enjoy my entry. there's no audio demo because i figured taking a moment to explore the range of the presets would be more interesting.

the timbre is slightly different with a few novel features, like velocity smoothing. i'd say best for, blippy synth lines, incidental synth effects and synth trumpets.

How terrible, they have created a sound library for a sampler for which they paid for (to Synapse, Zampler is based upon Dune1) and gave that same sampler to people for free and literally everyone was free to make sound library for Zampler and to enter the contest.
The best part: Beat did it 4 years ago with Black Mamba, but you are obviously not aware of it.

Second, it's nice how you took just one part of the sentence to completely misinterpret it and to go into a drama queen mode while the whole sentence goes:
Additional soundsets available on the Beat magazine DVDs, http://www.zamplersounds.com and on http://www.zampler.de
Whoever is familiar with Zampler knows that sound libraries like Rooar, CS-40M Burst, Yin & Yang, Assault, Electro Riot have been offered for free for years on zampler.de website besides other free sound libraries which are currently on zampler.de but have been commercialized and I don't see any problem with that.
I won't even talk about Dune BE, Beatzille, etc.
This is just....I don't know...............

No it's not. Dune 1 does not allow .sfz import..........

So far I'm liking the RVK-808 drum plugin, some nice kits included. I just wish it had assignable outs and more importantly assignable midi notes..... :?

Thanks to everybody who contributed ! :tu:

Its still based on D1. Everything else is the same, they just switched out the OSC for and Sfz OSC

Agreed (unfortunately).

A lot of the entries seem rushed. Some of them require certain files (that seem to be messing on my machine). The ones that do work, are either buggy, or have no presets to showcase what they're supposed to do without going through the manuals - which not all of them do come with.

I'm interested mainly in synths. With some exceptions (Full Bucket Music and xoxos), most of them look & sound too DIY and unfinished (what's up with thoose HUGE GUIs?). Although IMO Serpo is quite a nice effort (but again, huge GUI) - would like to see it getting a more consistent library and an updated & improved interface. Siren is als surprisingly usable and nice ;)

As for fx, to my surprise, some are really cool - especially Roth-Air (very good) and SuperSpread (I've been searching for ages some something similar to Dr. Speaker Blower's Widescreen, and finally there's an alternative. I would have liked a smoother and more refined spreading curve though - as is it's quite aggressive & making drastic adjustments - adding a bit too much artifacts too soon; but hey, one hell of a one knob stereo spreader, nevertheless). These will prolly get my vote. Antiknot seems nice as well (reminds of those Glitchmachines crazy fx to some degree), but keeps crushing in FL Studio (works for a few minutes then it silences the whole DAW and nothing puts out sound anymore; I have to close and reopen the session).

I was a bit surprised not to see entries from some old DC vets, but hey. Anyway, my 2 cents.

PS: yeah, Zampler is based on Synapse's Dune engine. It used to say so in the plugin's description. The overall look is a dead giveaway in itself.

Hey guys!

Just to clarify the confusion between W-Buzz and SnareBuzz.
W-Buzz was a sample library for Kontakt containing samples from an electric bass recorded through a mic positioned at the wires of a snare drum.
SnareBuzz is an audio effect plugin that simulates the snare wires coded by me as I'm learning how to do plugins right now.

Same concept, different beasts! One was a sample library and the one is an audio effect that doesn't use samples at all.

It's like saying "this painting should be removed from the gallery because he already used the blue colour in another painting".

Sorry about that, I was planning to make a lot of presets this week end (I finished my entry a few hours before the deadline). Spaceship Delay will have also an embedded manual with a list of delay tricks and a live tutorial. The code is already there, I just need to finish the content of the extra files :D Its location is on the about tab...

Anyway, when all these things are done, I'll open a thread to explain the concepts behind my entry, since everything isn't obvious enough  I need also to update my webpages
