Doesn't look like it. There's no sign of Madrona Labs in the exhibitor list and Randy hasn't said anything about going to Berlin on his forums (he did last year).

Is Sumu going to be something like Iris 2 (but better)?
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

Perhaps it‘s going to be something like Zebra 3 or Zynaptiq Orange Vocoder 4: long ago announced, never released... :scared:

Psh, Zebra 3 is so close that I can already taste Zebra 4 (hint of pineapple, FYI).

A couple of days ago, I received a news email from Madrona. One of the things it said is that they're almost ready for beta testers. I don't have the email anymore unfortunately

Madrona Labs wrote:I announced that I was working on Sumu, a new additive / FM hybrid synthesizer, quite a while ago. In designing this new creature I realized that to pull it off properly I needed to make a big leap with what I could do graphically. Now that Aaltoverb is released, a lot of the necessary infrastructure is already being tested as part of that plugin and a Sumu beta should not be too far behind. If you're interested in getting an early listen and consider yourself a capable beta tester, contact me for details.

Wasn't this already mentioned pretty much as is, like last year?

Still curious! No pressure, just sayin' ... :wheee:

cheers

The first Sumu announcement was in 2017. Doesn't feel like it but that's almost 4 years! :o

I wonder if it's stil under going or the whole thing has need abandoned by Madrona? Anyone here is a beta tester maybe and could share something? Enlighten us!

Post

It will come together with Zebra 3 and Zynaptiq Orange Vocoder 4 as a kind of trio infernale.

I'm not a beta tester but on the Madrona forum, Randy Jones said on 7-28-20 that Sumu beta testing is underway.
