Right click on plugin in either browser or device bar - there's an option to toggle high-DPI scaling.kmonkey wrote:Can you clarify "each plugin separately" thing please? As i said i am testing zoom factor and High-DPI and i have various problems.DJ Warmonger wrote:
High-DPI scaling can be enabled for each plugins separately. Scalable plugins stay as they are, while some legacy or just tiny plugins can be upscaled.

I just did a Live 9 vs. Live 10 test. Just kind of eyeing and watching CPU times. I only did one test each, opening the same exact project. I rebooted the computer before testing in both. Both took essentially the same time to open and close the project. I played the project and watched CPU in both Ableton and Ableton's listing within Task Manager. I wrote down certain points in time. For the most part, Live 9 and 10 matched fairly close, though I did see some lower numbers sometimes in Live 10.
The thing that most struck me was Memory Usage. I used Task Manager for memory usage and this project showed nearly 500 MB larger with Live 9. I am using 9 Standard and 10 Suite.
I am happy with the results. I don't have the speediest/strongest computer, so was worried Live 10 would push my CPU. I've opened several old projects, tried out several of my instrument racks and everything is working great. I will start using 10. If things go well for a month or two without needing to open 9, I'll probably be removing 9.

Lol no it isn't. It's a half arsed buggy hack not worth the download even if it was free. Seriously, just because some random person decides to make some easy dollars off gullible fools by copying ideas from another program and implementing them via a crude and limited API doesnt mean the result is anything resembling the original.grymmjack wrote:Thank you. By the way, if someone did comparison between Abletons Wavetable and Bitwigs Phase-4?
I know it is different synths, but in terms of sound design and workflow which is more comfortable and sounds better?

So the whole ctrl-drag thing for fine adjustments appears to have been changed to shift-drag. Seems strange and will take some getting used to, anyone know why this did this?

Why does Electric now only ship with a few patches for Piano and Keys, where are the rest (used to have lots of experimental and mallet sounds)?

OK tried copying the old ones into the application devices core library folder itself but they still don't show - doesn't it refresh itself? How do you force the library to refresh anyway? (I hate the Live library still - looks like they have not done anything to improve it apart from silly colours)

Recently i bought jBridge to use some 32-bit only plugins (e.g. JP6K, SQ8L, Augur) in Live 9 Suite 64-bit and after upgrading to Live 10 Suite it still seems to work properly with the plugins i checked so far (currently with jBridge v1.75 in Windows 10 64-bit).

And here is another BIG reason I am not upgrading.
no alias or even symbolic links.
users have been asking for this forever.
nothing.

Between adding custom folder 'shortcuts', drag'n'drop support from Explorer/finder and the new Favourites tagging system what is the need of alias and symbolic links (genuine question rather than a dig - you may know of a definite workflow improvement that I'm unaware of)

Live is my main DAW since around 12 years, i am a big fan of wavetable synths and i had waited for a proper implementation of Max 4 Live into Live for ages so upgrading was quite obvious for me. FWIW i had preordered the Upgrade to LIve 10 Suite a while ago (pre-order price for upgrade from LIve 9 Suite to Live 10 Suite was 199 €).
Anyway i agree that for Live 9 Standard users the upgrade might not be as interesting as it is for Live Suite customers.
I have not checked all improvements and additional features in LIve 10 but so far it looks like a really nice update. With Live 9 they added some quite nice free updates/additions and i hope they will do that with v10 too.

Alias lets you create a folder with shortcuts to ie all your kicks, you are not doubling your disk space with alias links.
custom folder shortcuts, and the others you mention ignore alias links.

And another, how many of you (on mac) get UNKOWN FILE ID! error when creating folders or presets in lives browser ?
Still unfixed.
