My recent contact with support was rather encouraging in that regard. They are aware that a lot of "engineering" took place in recent years and hope to deliver more "creative" updates again in the future...
It also reminded me again why I like them so much: It was such a pleasure to talk with them - no drama, no dodging, but instead a very friendly and supportive discussion. I think I'll just keep on enjoying what's there.
And the more I use it, the more I like String Studio 3... :-)

Cheers,

Tom

AAS told me for years in a very friendly, supportive and dodge-less way that Tassman was last in the queue, and they would update Tassman after they updated the others

Yeah, I know, I had high hopes for Tassman myself, I just somehow realised that I like their instruments way too much to feel bad about them. :-)
Chromaphone and String Studio 3 are high in my top 5, so I'll take whatever they may be able to do, since I can't change anything about it anyway. MPE would be my main wish, but that may or may not happen.

Cheers,

The "problem" is precisely that their instruments sound so great -- particularly Tassman!

and there was no funeral....

However, there is an ongoing celebration of String Studio VS-3 with twelve (12) new tutorials at the AAS YouTube channel:

Have to agree with you there, I was hoping for a rewrite.
Just having the ability to mix and match generators or whatever they call their string, percussion, and analog oscillators is a cool thing, and I hope they rethink it in the future.. long shot I know.

I still love String Studio though. I hope the make it MPE compatible, my #1 request for MPE of any VI.

Why would that be useful given that VS-3 is not that different from VS-2 in core features? To me it causes complications, particularly in NI Komplete Kontrol.
It's a different instrument because of the layers and effects; old presets can be brought forward but not back. This way people can load old projects with VS-2. Better than the alternative, where a new plugin version breaks old projects.

I just got a Christmas gift from them. You won't see me saying anything negative about Santa. ;-) They remain the leader in physical modeling, but for those who yearn for something otherworldly from AAS . . . maybe they have something brewing in their lab. Who knows? Until then, I'll enjoy what I have and hopefully make some music. ;-)

Sorry if it was mentioned already, but can the VS-3 display be resized?

Good honest support, as always.

I don't see how I can do that ...

No one?

About resizing the interface . . . . No luck on my end. I'll ask tech support. For what it's worth, I do like the default display size.

It's a little small, and was just wondering if it could be made larger. I can't imagine how it would be if I had a 4K monitor.

No resizing of GUI in v3? Not even a bigger GUI then before? Ouch.. :help:

The interface is big on my screen, but I agree . . . resizing would be a nice feature. I'll reach out to them. If not scaling, having a few size options would be nice, i.e., 50%, 75%, 100%, 150%.

Resizing is only part of it. Providing an option to see all synthesis parameters on one page is a much bigger necessity, at least for me. VS-1 could do it so there is no reason why subsequent versions can’t offer it. The multi-tab design introduced in v.2 was such a step backwards in terms of UX and it pains me to this day as String Studio is one of my top 5 synths which I use all the time.
