That being said.... I love my new axe. Wish I bought it in the 80's

I don' have any steenkin' Los Paulos!

Never got along with them, and never played a really good one. I had one with P90s, solid mahogany. Sound was great, but couldn't get the action where I wanted it, even after a re-fret. :x Sold it for about 40% of what I paid for with the re-fret.

I do have an SG Classic, though. P90 goodness.

:smack: Erm...NÖÖÖ! Even the last year that I was on the street and had a guitar, I would never sell it for drugs. I was offered 50 bucks for it by a shop, once, I declined. $50 would've been gone in 2 days. Kept me fed and occasionally laid, that guitar. Oh, and perpetually wasted, too.

It was a $250 Norman, back in 1979. The shop wasn't in the charity business. It was one of my more intelligent decisions I made while I was on the street. 1979 was a very bad year for me, 1980 wasn't much better, at least until around the time Lennon was shot. Thank God I had that guitar. I had it until I moved to Germany in 2004. It was unplayable by then.

79 was a really bad year for me as well.

In two weeks, my mother died, I got busted for pot. I lost my job and my father kicked me out of the house.

79 rather sucked for me as well, I found I was truly on my own then. My mother was really sick, my sister took over her apartment, my father wouldn't pay for anything. I had to go stay with someone who had a crush on me and paint houses for a while with her. Brutal. Then I had to borrow money from the gubmint to go to school and work for $4 an hour there.
But, I established that quality of independence in a hurry. Later my father told the gumment I had fled to Mexico, he has no idea where I am.

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.
