there are 'attempts to meet syd' stories on the net. i think it's clear that he is not lost in his "own little world," but is steadfastly disinterested in catering to the "own little robot mentality" of people who believe in hero/stars, eg. industrial programming, since this type of thought got him USED. believe it or not!

in other words, "f**k off until your species evolves" i think would be the intended communication.

so have you met him?
do you know anyone who has?
it is quite clear to anyone who comes into contact with syd that he is clearly not with us.surely even if wanting to avoid any public interaction he would still enjoy the benefits of his royalties?by this i dont neccassarilly mean expensive cars and stuff but say new shoes when he nneds em kind of thing.instead of waiting for almost everything to be done for him

I read a story that Syd showed up at the studio when the were recording Wish You Were Here and he was strumming a guitar with no strings on it.

Stories abound about Syd..I don't think half of it has any merit. It was a very useful tool to promote the band in a society still not quite up to par on how LSD actually works. They conjured Syd as a kind of urban Legend, & it worked to great effect. It's way more glamourous to say he lost his mind then to say he lost intrest. Or, it's even possible that he wound up realizing it's not so bad having someone wipe your bum for you if you act goofy enough..There has to be some gratification to being able to shit the bed with impunity

I've done prodigous amounts of LSD over a 15 year period & I'm still here more or less intact..

no, but from the tell, it seems familiar :p

put yourself of the perspective. what is the point of royalties? wealth? to enjoy the fruits of society?

what meaning does life have when millions of people have their perception so warped that they have no respect for it? use your imagery from the 'bard' concept - would a 'true' singer sing for their own greatness? you might as well strum a f**king surf board when you realise you're the main course and no one is thinking of anything except their empty mouths and how much they can tell their friends they stuffed you in it. syd might have strummed an unstrung guitar, but i wonder who he was perhaps imitating, strumming an unstrung soul et c.

or like those little bagpipe chanters.. but go off with it.. "i saw syd try and write with the wrong end of a pen.." keep maintaining that "lunatic fringe" image.. sells records, keeps everyone thinking that what they do is sane..

i hope (and i believe he also hopes) he lives for a million years as a miserable wart on the ass of pop culture to bear witness for the inability of people to perceive when under the effect of industrial culture, ie. their own faults (eg. because industrial culture requires maintaining 'standards') "but why, syd?" lol. why, because. i am sure that the only thing he bears in his heart is the desire to pose the question since people have such a hard time answering it from where they're at atm.

i feel we are i agreement in one thing tho xoxos,he should be left alone now.
whether he doing it conciously or whether its a real occurence of "madness" its obvious to me(and yes i know someone who is part of his mental health team)that his time in the spotlight has past,but i will still hold him as a hero xoxos,because as far as im concerned it was him that got me hooked on sounds

but again that said i know when its time to let people move on

I still know girls (and guys) who are in love with the young syd. If he had turned into the following in public, I wonder if they would still feel the same about him?
