Just remember to write them emails with suggestions, preferences or even grievances about the new browser.

That old be a good option too.moxxi wrote: Wed May 03, 2023 4:47 pm It would be nice if in v5 they implemented an option to use the old browser as well, for example Settings -> User Interface -> Use old browser (Bitwig must be restarted)

I finally got a response 18 days later from my Browser bug report about Collections not showing on the side browser as they did before but as I feared the response seemed to come from a low level support person and not someone on the development team.
I sent him a screenshot of the way it was before and asked how to duplicate it in the new browser since he said it was possible with no explanation provided. Wonder if I'll have to wait another 18 days for a response?
This points out once again how incredibly inefficient bug reports by email are compared to a dedicated beta testing forum or even participation in threads such as this by company personnel.
I've found a workaround but the point of updates is not to generate the need for workarounds but rather to eliminate the need for them.....

Without reiterating all the good points that have been made before, I think the person or persons who designed the new browser did not understand what the strong points of the old broweser were, and produced a Frankenstein implementation that in some areas even duplicates features and in others gave us an inferior solution. The fact that, in the right hand browser, if I navigate away from the samples tab to pick a plugin, it loses its place in the sample library, is just an absolute productivity killer.

I think that is a bug... did you report it?amg56 wrote: Thu Jun 29, 2023 6:30 pm if I navigate away from the samples tab to pick a plugin, it loses its place in the sample library, is just an absolute productivity killer.
For me, sometimes it loses its place and sometimes it doesn't. That is also why I think it is a bug.

I reported it. As I understand it, it's done by design, and they view it as a feature.
I started using an external sample browser.

Yikes, I remember putting in a feature request for the old browser to save its place and being so happy when they implemented it. It was super handy for saving templates and having your favorite sample locations loaded up & ready to go, is this really changed in the new browser?amg56 wrote: Thu Jun 29, 2023 6:30 pm The fact that, in the right hand browser, if I navigate away from the samples tab to pick a plugin, it loses its place in the sample library, is just an absolute productivity killer.

I'll have to investigate a bit more. Sometimes it goes back to the previous place and sometimes not. If it is by design, there must be a logic to it, but I didn't notice it yet.amg56 wrote: Fri Jun 30, 2023 4:32 am I reported it. Do you have V5? Check it out and see... In V4 and earlier, I only used the side browser for samples and not devices/plugins so never thought about this.toby wrote: Sat Jul 01, 2023 2:10 amYikes, I remember putting in a feature request for the old browser to save its place and being so happy when they implemented it. If they changed it previously, then it seems like a good possibility for them to again change it now.

That's the only bug? which bothers me, sometimes it goes back and sometimes it gets lost. I don't understand.pdxindy wrote: Sat Jul 01, 2023 3:17 am Sometimes it goes back to the previous place and sometimes not.

I also noticed that u-he presets are duplicated (synths and efx). I solved this by deleting the preset locations from "Plug-In Locations" so that it only searches for plugins and not presets. “Sound Content Locations” is a place for presets and that's ok. I don't know why v5 merged both plugins and presets together (under Plug-In Locations). After that, I re-indexed everything and now it's ok.
