Is the core library the same for BFD3.5 and BFD3.4.5.28?

Awww what a shame, who will make excuses for Inmusic running BFD into the ground now???Amberience wrote: Fri Jun 13, 2025 11:51 am Hi all, just to let you know, I no longer work for BFD Drums or inMusic. Please direct all messages to the support team via this page: https://support.bfddrums.com/en/support/home
I can't assist with authorization requests and things like that anymore. Thank you!

Maybe you're just trolling, but I recall an audio pro and musician who came here and helped people -- not some marketing hack trying to gin up business or perform damage control.Scotty Ellis wrote: Wed Jun 18, 2025 5:11 am Awww what a shame, who will make excuses for Inmusic running BFD into the ground now???
inMusic Brands has a long history of letting their products from acquired companies wither on the vine. So far, BFD is no different, and it's been over 5 years since the acquisition.

It's wonderful that you're such an ardent support of someone who sold out BFD owners to Inmusic.telecharge wrote: Wed Jun 18, 2025 7:26 am inMusic Brands has a long history of letting their products from acquired companies wither on the vine. Sorry, not sure what you're on about. Do you have a link or want to explain it?Scotty Ellis wrote: Wed Jun 18, 2025 2:13 pm It's wonderful that you're such an ardent support of someone who sold out BFD owners to Inmusic.

next step is subscription only once they've scraped up a few more unsuspecting first-timers with the latest round of lowest ever discounts. they're certainly not adding any value.
always understood he was just a product manager doing his best to keep what used to be a rather fine product going despite the unfortunate circumstances re business ownership. pretty clear (to me) he's not making any business decisions, but perhaps you have better insight.Scotty Ellis wrote: Wed Jun 18, 2025 2:13 pm It's wonderful that you're such an ardent support of someone who sold out BFD owners to Inmusic.

Of course that's what he wanted you to believe all while he profited from what Inmusic has done to BFD. I'd rather it had died than exist in it's current form.sonidomolino wrote: Wed Jun 18, 2025 6:20 pm

Is there a way to use already installed libraries with 3.5? Or do you need to re-download and install the libraries?

FAQs for BFD3.5 require re-downloading all content, something to do with their new authorization scheme. tried to use what i had as download times are unbelievably slow and didn't want to tie up a production system for that long but it has not worked well for me, including losing kit pieces for at least one expansion without any means to restore it.
i'd stick with the previous version if i had a choice.

Thanks for your response. You are correct. BFD3 FAQ states:sonidomolino wrote: Fri Jun 27, 2025 5:43 pm FAQs for BFD3.5 require re-downloading all content, something to do with their new authorization scheme. tried to use what i had as download times are unbelievably slow and didn't want to tie up a production system for that long but it has not worked well for me, including losing kit pieces for at least one expansion without any means to restore it.

Note, if upgrading to BFD 3.5, you must download/install the latest expansion updates for compatibility with BFD 3.5 - Content from 3.4 or earlier builds is incompatible.

The only issue using the older builds is there is this small graphic which shows looking at libraries in preferences. Drew advised me there are other new graphics things like I should download the new (February 2025 versions) but I am never going to waste that kind of time. The inMusic downloader makes the legacy Licence Manager look good. I bought something the other day and 4GB took all day, and I mean a 24-hour day or close to it. At times it looks like if you're not focused on it it just stalls out.Genetic_Junk wrote: Fri Jun 27, 2025 2:35 am Is there a way to use already installed libraries with 3.5? But the expansions, other than Core Library which has "Rock tambourine" and Yamaha drum cases (neither are new, particularly), over I have I think 19 including Core have only one difference, this graphic, a tiny horizontal bar which in the OG builds shows 'image not found', it has no real function.
