Yes, that's what I mean. Take the Pro-800 topology and swap in different oscillators and filters, thereby creating brand new products. That's basically what the Polysource seems to be.seafire wrote: Wed Oct 29, 2025 9:10 pm Then it wouldn't be a P600 clone. Do you mean something else? Am I missing your meaning?
Damn it B, why?

A lot of their "clones" aren't actual clones in any case. However, if they erased the lookalike case, then people wouldn't buy them quite so much. That LED readout on the Pro0800 is holding it, and the (vaporware) source back, along with the stupid membrane buttons.

Yes, I feel a better option would have been to stick Pro-800 in the UB-XA/Deepmind desktop case with extra controls and a screen for not much more.ghettosynth wrote: Sun Nov 02, 2025 6:36 am A lot of their "clones" aren't actual clones in any case. I don't know the sds-3 but, at least from that demo, the sy-1 with its multiple modes, filter, 2 lfos (with 2 shapes) and s/h has a broader sound palette. But both are limited in terms of what they can do. Neither is in any way, shape or form mind-blowing. The sy-1 is nice enough, though, and it's the only behringer that I have kept (so far). It's also and considerably cheaper than the sds-3.
Much better than either would be a module that contained one voice of each...

I think now their new factory is in full swing, a lot of stuff will be coming out in a very short period.db3 wrote: Mon Nov 03, 2025 5:46 pm I feel B has lost the plot somewhat and is releasing all kinds of random stuff rather than focusing on completing the more significant stuff.
3 synths in the last 3 weeks is a good sign, even if it may not be stuff you/me/others are waiting for.

We can't win all the time and sometimes a company release something that someone else wants
I am not interested in the Roland TR-1000 since i am more interested in synths, workstations and Grooveboxes but i am happy that they released it for the people who enjoy using Drum machines.
I am still waiting for the Polysource, JT-16 and the STX and i will be happy when they are released but i don't mind that they make other people happy while i wait for my wishlist to be released

I mean, it could be bollocks but - for me anyway - doesn't feel unexpected
