I figured it was something simple like the preset file itself had gotten buggered up, but it's still good to know I'm not hallucinating.Ingonator wrote:UPDATE: I just checked the "Dual Hypersaw Pad 01 IW" patch. Look at my last post. There's a link with the corrected patch (+ 2 others derived from it).deraudrl wrote:I figured it was something simple like the preset file itself had gotten buggered up, but it's still good to know I'm not hallucinating.Ingonator wrote:UPDATE: I just checked the "Dual Hypersaw Pad 01 IW" patch. Pressing "next" preset ignores the presets that are off the visible area - goes back to the top of the list.
If manually scrolling the presets so that they are visible, then "next" works as expected.
In short, "next" doesn't scroll the preset-list.

I have since this morning a strange problem. If i go to "new sound" -> default to create a new patch, and after going to osc1 and switch to wave-osc and scroll to a wave - the sm2 getting dumb!
If i switch back to basic osc - still bump!
So everytime if i switch to wav-osc now the sm2 gets bump... but the days before he didn't have this prob...

I cant reproduce it with the latest build. Working OK for me.Cyforce wrote:I have since this morning a strange problem. If i go to "new sound" -> default to create a new patch, and after going to osc1 and switch to wave-osc and scroll to a wave - the sm2 getting dumb!

I'd recommend this:
1. Open the file Config\SynthMasterConfig.txt
2. Edit the following lines:
Force Rebuilding of Factory Waveforms=1
Force Rebuilding of User Waveforms=1
Save and rerun SynthMaster 2.0
This will rebuild all of the waveforms. That might help.

Kind of a bug (more likely a wrong mousearea) :
When clicking on the pianokeys within the Keyboard Scaling a point with "negative" value is added - luckily one can still drag it.
Ah and the one when inserting a point and start dragging it without releasing the left mouse button first, still is present. (the newly added point will be pushed to the left bottom corner of the Keyboard Scaling area).
OT:
The noise knob in the LFO section is a really cool idea
Thanks!!!

4 ADSR Envelopes and Two Multistage Envelopes are very Useful in my opinion, When I was looking for how to route the ADSR's to parameters and filters, i didn't notice at the first time, but when I saw double modulation input on all filter parameters with "add" and "multiply" options, i thought its "great job".
ADSR's are very successful i think, because their timings are very "preciese" and the levels are very "tight".. When working with very short decay times and also very long decays, they are very preciese and correct.
I also liked the sound quality, the speakers i am working with my DAW sounds like a "guitar amp" when i press the key of midi midi controller when routed to a Synthmaster 2.0 with "Ambient BA Pressure CY" preset open. Cubase SX 3.0 shows "-9.5dB" on channel meter, but the sound is strong and audible enaugh, and also is bright. I like to use SynthMaster 2.0 especially for short timbre sounds like blips and plucked sounds like in arps and basslines with short notes, its ADSR envelopes are great and very accurate with short time decays and quickly decaying envelope times.
But i couldnt test it with audio inputs to Synthmaster2.0, i couldnt test the vocoder. I use Cubase SX 3 and maybe audio inputs of SynthMaster 2.0 arent visible with CSX3.

I am finding the knobs to be a bit difficult to use. Is there a way to increase the mouse resoluation so that they move less with my mouse movements? I looked in the editor but didn't find any control for that. Did I miss it somewhere or is it set internally.

I'll take care of that this weekend! Might have to compile the "FX" version of SynthMaster for that to work, since Cubase does NOT support sidechains like Protools, or does it?indigo_knight wrote: But i couldnt test it with audio inputs to Synthmaster2.0, i couldnt test the vocoder. Crash : Dragging the mouse to increase the number of steps in the LFO in step or glide mode leads to a reproducible crash (doesn't matter which LFO - synth or voice).
Also I wanted to make some presets for the LFO's, but there seems to be something wrong. A file is getting saved but when I want to load it, no data is being restored and I even got a crash once...
Looking forward to the next build.
Edit : The Label within the ArpPage should be "Step" instead of "swing" (not the knob but the field where you can drag the number of steps)
Also you can drag it upwards without upper limit...

There are several mistakes in the current GUI that are being fixed. The whole GUI is still being worked on, well re-worked, sorry for the confusion that is there right now.FragileX wrote:Crash : Dragging the mouse to increase the number of steps in the LFO in step or glide mode leads to a reproducible crash (doesn't matter which LFO - synth or voice).

A small Synthmaster 2 story... Yesterday i found a Novation Bass Station Rack (hardware) on EBay. For getting an idea about the sound i installed the demo of the software version which sound is supposed to be close to the hardware.
On this software i made a quite easy 2 OSC sound (2 saws) but it was exactly sounding like i wanted it. I thought before i buy the software or hardware i could try to reproduce that sound on other synths. The result was that on Strobe it was close but still not there but on Synmthmaster 2 it sounds almost identical or even better. Is that cool or not ?!
The patch is here (including a second legato version): http://rapidshare.com/files/306824623/S ... _04_IW.zip
PS: Since the hardware Bass Station rack is still below 100 Euros i'll probably buy it anyway if it stays between 200-250 Euros...
