That is really lame. Where is the EU when you need them?
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Do spectrasonics ever have sales? Like Black Friday sale ect..

EU sucks more and more..... with all their VAT changes, EURO f**k, political decisions etc. how can a EU work when they cannot agree together? ahhh it's offtopic!.........

im wondering, isnt the UPGRADE to Omni 2 just a SERIAL?

No sales. It's great - you know what the price is, and that's it. Occasionally retailers do deals, fluctuations on exchange rates etc, but they're fairly modest.

Yes you can license transfer, but it can be a bit of a deal.

Caine - yes the upgrade is just a serial. Anyone getting it early can't do a thing with it. It's all about the 30th.

Why is that "great"? (Apart from because you are the most insane Spectrasonics fanboy this forum has ever seen...)

How economical with the truth you are. Why don't you elaborate a little, like tell people of all the times it's taken MONTHS to sell something you own, because Spectrasonics have 'problems' with letting people sell their product.

With Spectrasonics, you pay upfront, you know what the price is - there's no artificial pressure to buy when a product is in pre-release or in very early days if you want to wait it out, neither is there the waiting game of will-they-won't-they on a sale. As a consequence, they don't devalue. You get free updates for years (seven in the case of Omni). Not little updates either, huge ones.

I mean, the opposite is East West, and that's a way to go - I've had good and bad value from them over the years. But personally I prefer a company that adds value over years by improving the product, not releases a couple of bug fixes, abandoning it and eventually slashing the prices down til you get one with a Happy Meal.

Anyway, all old ground.

EDIT - I've never tried to sell a Spectrasonics product (nor has it ever crossed my mind) so I don't quite see how I'm being economical with the truth. I've read it can be a bit painful thought. Support in general is excellent though, I do have first hand experience of that.

So what's the thing everyone is most looking forward to?

For me I think it's a tie between using my Trilian library with the new synthesis functions (enhanced FM/RM with wavetable sources) and obviously loading my own samples.

for me the whole new synthpossibilities and locking the presets, i wanna see how much the new granular engine is extended and how the importing sounds like in granular engine :).

so does Spectrasonics announce they will open the online registration on april 30th? so if i would buy a key now i would stare at it and would be sad :( :D :hyper:

I would have liked to have bought my key already and had that part over with, but I don't think anyone sells the VIP upgrade. It doesn't really matter, but I do dread the download when it goes live. I'm hoping their servers can handle the volume and still feed at a decent rate. The whole purchase/download is just a chore that I'm patiently waiting for the privilege of knocking off my list.
