The blinking 'Music' button is normal. Mine does that after taking the update and the update took fine.
As silly as this may sound...open your Control Panels in order to set your global string sensitivity. What ever number it sez, ignore that.
Also, if you set it for the number that it is already set as internally, you will not get an acknowledgment from the app.. Only when you change the sensitivity number. So if you set it for +1 or 7, and nothing happens, try +2 or 8 to see if it acknowledges it, then set it back to +1 or 7.
For ControlPanel .0001 set for +1
For ControlPanel .0003 set for 7
If it acknowledges the write give it a go.

I'm sure it had nothing to do with the 'updater' app it self.
If it'snot a user oversight like i'm assuming above, a hacker changed the code in the firmware dload...maybe.

I just uploaded the YRG update and the string sensitivity issues I had are fixed. I had no problem with the YRG sensing each and every note playing fingerstyle or with a pick. And strumming seems to be improved as well.

Also, and it is probably just coincidence, but the MIDI function is now working with my DAW Tracktion software. It now works perfectly sensing each and every note and not a single ghost note.

I still have a problem in Synth mode with ghost notes especially on the high E and B strings. Seems like it is in tap mode or something.

But the good news is the upgraded firmware does the trick for the string sensitivity issues!!!!

Also, the joystick now works in Synth mode and with my Traction software.

Frankly, the YRG tracks and works better in the midi world than either of my Godins or my two GK3 equipped guitars.

If they could fix the ghost note issue in Synth mode and offer a standard guitar neck I would be more than delighted with the YRG purchase!

i can only add that my YRG results match jackstrats. Although i never get the "double trigger ghost notes" on any string.
Be sure you have not accidentally set "Tap" mode" ON

I'm wondering if you and jackstrat have a later serial # than Tapper Mike etc.?

Maybe they made some physical changes during production?
