The short answer is he is unable. There’s no shortage of false starts and empty promises to update or open source it over the years. Just let it die. The only person who has the power to save it can’t and won’t. He tried again a couple years ago and gave up, and also reneged on releasing the code for others to take it up. Just wait for the TAL JX-8P. It’s coming.

So why cant anyone else pick up this project and make the improvements we've all been asking for. Cant be that difficult;. I would gladly PAY.

I’ve never owned a Juno, Alpha Juno, or Jupiter, so I’m not in a position to judge TAL’s accuracy there. I do own the JX-8P and the Roland JX-08 (it doesn’t quite nail the sound, but it does nail the vibe), and I really hope they go all-in on authenticity. PG-8X already nails the sound, so it sets a very high reference point for any new emulation.

Downloaded the Mac/vst file and put it in the HD/Library/Audio/Plugins/VST folder but Digital performer is not recognizing it even after I forced a re-examination of VST files. Is it not compatible? MacBook Pro, M4 Pro, Digital Performer 11.36

It is not universal binary, IIRC.
