Old post I know, but I was just wondering about this in Orion. I (think I) remember Orion (8.6) automatically reloaded audio files after editing them in an external editor, but can't get that to work.

No, you're right but it seemed to have stopped working in one of the later releases. Because it's not something you tend to use too regularly, it slipped through in beta testing.

I just opened Orion again after many years. Man what a quick and easy workflow. A joy.

Yep, so disappointing that Rich gave up on it but I completely understand why he did. Man's gotta earn a living.

A Mac you just turn on, power is always there and you're getting hours of battery. I don't notice any noise, any loss in performance between portable and plugged in either.

On top of that MacOS audio drivers are multi-client off the bat, so if you're running from the built-in headphone jack you haven't got to piss about with releasing the driver from DAW to other applications if you need to.

for me its quite the opposite. thinking of switching to windows laptop from M1 Max MacBook 4TB SSD 32GB ram.

I have been doing this for 25 years, started pro 24/Cubase- I have tried/used every DAW (still have Bitwig, Reason, Renoise and Studio One) but Live is the one I always seem to go back to- familiar, easy on the eye, uncluttered and most importantly fun.
