Hanz Meyzer wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2024 9:53 pm Hi, I am using Synthmaster v3.0.4 (macos). Sadly Synthmaster caused Renoise to crash, now somehow all favorites are gone. Maybe I am too dumb to fine those...? I remember that there was a bank called "Favourites", now its gone. Can you tell me where the favorites are saved on the drive? Maybe I can restore from a backup.... Thanks.
Hi Hanz,

I tested with Renoise, but could not get a crash. What are the exact steps to reproduce this one? Would you be able to send me a test project? bulentbiyikoglu AT kv331audio DOT com Thanks!

gussent wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2024 7:06 pm Please, please, please!!! Could you move "My Presets" and "Favorites" to the top of the bank list? Every time I run a new plugin instance, I have to scroll all the way down to see my presets. If it’s not possible to move these both, then at least move "My Presets"...
Like this? I also changed the color of favourite disabled icon so that it is more distinct from enabled icon:

It seems the popping-sound issue is better, but not 100% yet. I heard it when I was switching between presets a few mins ago.

I may have reported this before:

I noticed if I change to a different preset in the browser, it doesn't update the name at the top of the display. Also, I intialized the preset I had opened, that worked, but then I tried using the arrows to switch to other presets using the left/right arrows and it keeps showing "New Preset" as the name. It doesn't seem to matter which bank I start from either.

I also noticed that if I change something such as Parameter Lag in the settings to a slightly different setting (I was just checking to see if it made any difference with anything), it clears out the "New Preset" at the top, and then it's just blank there no matter which preset I switch to. The preset works at least, just a blank space at the top.

I'm using the latest VST2 version you posted the other day.

Hi Rob

I haven't look into that one yet. But if it happened after 3.0.7, it might be related to my fix in 3.0.8 about envelopes.

I can not reproduce this Rob. So, I'd need exact steps to reproduce.

What's your DAW? Cakewalk?

Yep, I use Cakewalk.

Well that's weird...now it's working. :? At least it shows what happened in my screenshot.

I did reboot the PC since I posted those issues, so maybe something in the latest update didn't take for whatever reason until that reboot? Anyway, I will let you know if it happens again. :)

Hi, I'm running a trial version of v3.0.4 VST3 on PC, in Reaper. Does micro tuning works? I'm trying different scales in the Scale menu - no effect. Synthmaster keeps using the 12 tone equal tempered scale no matter what scale I select. Also, according to List of microtonal software plugins, Synthmaster supports *.scl file import. How to do that? To me it's crucial.

Thanks.

Microtuning works, with scales with <= 12 notes. (I remember there was an issue with scales having more than 12 notes).

You can set the microtune in 2 ways:

1. Globally: Set Global Scale to the scale you want.

global micro tune.jpg

2. Per Preset:First set Global Scale to Preset. and then set Preset Tune to the scale you want:

preset micro tune 1.jpg
preset micro tune 2.jpg

You can copy your scl files under: My Documents/SynthMaster3/Scales folder

Hanz Meyzer wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2024 9:53 pm Fixed by restarting Renoise. There is a bug in v3.0.4: If you start Renoise, then add SM3 VST3, and then load a song containing SM3, too, Renoise will crash (sandboxing needs to be disabled). I think this bug already was fixed once...
Just fixed this one, thanks for the bug report. Looks like it was happening when the synth engine is initialized for a 2nd time. Update coming tomorrow.

Hmm, it doesn't work on my side. Here is the video where I demonstrate that. I simply initialized the default preset and went through different scales:
At some point I could hear some changes. It was the Arabic scale. But with the next selection, the tuning went back to 12 tone equal tempered scale.

No it does work. MOST of the scales in the library are "Equal" tempered. Please select a scale under

12 Tone Alternate
7 Tone Alternate

categories to hear a microtonic scale.

Thanks. I've got micro tuning running, finally. I've tried my custom scale and it's +6 cents off on every key. The same scale works fine in Surge XT. Interestingly, Surge XT demands the *.kbm file, as well, to apply *.scl correctly. I guess, it's different in Synthmaster? I could fix the shift by the Tune knob in a single preset, but doing it every time I select a new one is a pain. BTW, the Tune knob has +/-64 cents reading, but the actual range is +/-50 cents.

You can change the A4 global tune from under settings:audio engine
