O,
You read my mind, this is just what I was searching for.The waveframe collection is incredible. Thanks for the suggestion, easily the best sounds I've heard in the box to date.much appreciated
it captures the honest sounds, programming is amazing.A slow brass ensemble+rock horns,n a touch of a bone section stab sfz, makes a beautiful brass combi! great stuff here..thanks

Bobby, what did you get, Plugsound Pro? So you like it better than Halion Sonic / Hypersonic?

Dj,
I picked up Waveframe and Synths Anthology,to my ears this is far beyond HS,imo, you can easily tell these guys care about quality.Detail in conversion goes along way, have a read on Waveframe,it's much cheaper the Hs. This is a library I would use everyday like my hardware.Kinda sick how they only used a few mb's vs. huge gb's and it sounds this good.If you already have the sampletank kinda sounds, (modern thinner approach) then this is a fat sound to compliment it.

Here's a cool introduction to it for ya..from uvi
Back in the 80s, the WaveFrame Audioframe was the second generation of huge samplers like the Synclavier from New England Digital and the Australian Fairlight CMI. A complete 48 voice system sold for over $100,000.00 and at the time, the sound and feature set were worth it! That's why it was used by renowned artists and producers such as Peter Gabriel (credited on the LP "US") and Stevie Wonder, and also in the film industry for sound design, foley and ADR.
Waveframe Hardware
The UVI Soundpack WaveFrame Sound Collection is going in the complete opposite direction of the current trend for sound libraries. The set doesn't contain dozens of GB, nor even 1 GB; it weighs in at an impressive 350 Mb (yes Mb not GB) for more than 150 expertly handcrafted presets using more than 1400 meticulously recorded 16 bit / 44.1 kHz samples. All instruments have been imported from the original Audioframe Version H sound library, and remain true to the originals.

I'd like to try the UVI Workstation - it looks like fun. With due respect to the makers, does it come with any nasty drivers or bits and pieces that will haunt my hard drive?

PACE drivers are required as soundbanks are protected by iLok authorization.Hitch wrote:I'd like to try the UVI Workstation - it looks like fun. With due respect to the makers, does it come with any nasty drivers or bits and pieces that will haunt my hard drive?
Not sure if those will haunt your hard drive, but if you're not happy with it,
you can apply the uninstaller. On mac it's a command line too available in the PACE driver dmg, and standard uninstall on Windows.
As far as I know, it wipes entirely their existence.
Hope this answers your questions.

Thanks for your help. When you say "you can apply the uninstaller" do you mean uninstall just the PACE drivers or the Workstation itself? (A stupid question, I know, but music software hates me...)otristan wrote:PACE drivers are required as soundbanks are protected by iLok authorization.Hitch wrote:I'd like to try the UVI Workstation - it looks like fun. UVIWorkstation uninstaller do not uninstall pace driver as you may have other installed software that use it so in order to wipe out everythingHitch wrote:Thanks for your help. you first need to uninstall UVIWorkstation then PACE/iLok drivers.
On Windows both are listed in Add/Remove Programs part of Windows

Don't hesitate if this is still unclear.
