Will this install any protection related stuff, such as pace or whatever?

If your machine already has PACE drivers for another product, will this install ANOTHER set of drivers? Or just ammend the ones that are there?

So is this going to be a free player that you buy sounds to fill it with? Kind of like the Kore Player? I like that idea, even though I use Kontakt for mostly all of my samples.

That's what I'm getting. The only reason I didn't mind PACE is because I have another plug that I use that has it already(that I didn't know had it when I installed, but I liked the plug a lot). So it wasn't a big deal. And it doesn't need an iLok, just the PACE driver.
But I do wonder why something free needs copy protection. My guess is that there will be commercial products that will hang on that license or something, like soundsets.
Also, I'm downloading now. But can you turn OFF the "feature" where you automatically get updates from the website? I don't really mind too much, but some people will hate that.

Whoops! The dll won't load in any of my hosts (Cubase SX 3, Cantabile), it just makes them go "poof!" and vanish. Anyone else having problems?

Cool. Let me know when you got it installed. I'm playing with the standalone, and it's really cool; sets a new standard in GUI sexiness and it's easy as hell to use. Great sounds, too.
