File handling stuff...so the problem comes when you try to offload some routine work to a 3rd party developer, and now you have to track down someone elses bugs to fix, you have to rewrite part of that code yourself anyway, and you spent money to have someone else put you further behind? Oh, Urs, I'm sorry!

Can you just take your laptop to an airport or train terminal somewhere that's air-conditioned?

He doesn't have Windows on a laptop (told us so on the previous page :-).

Nope, not his bug, but a misunderstanding on my side... I did count the zero at the end of C strings as part of the string while his routines only wanted the actual length of the string... my bad... such a seemingly simple issue... no big deal on MacOS, but a giant problem on Win...

So, I think it's sorted now. But I need to do some more tests before I can get it out. Otherwise it might crash on non-SSE2 machines or presets will be confused or whatsoever. I guess it'll be up and running tomorrow :)

Damn heat! I'm taking a break downstairs in the pub... Coke with lime and ice... yummy...

So my understanding is that Z2 is now *really* close to final, isn't it ?

Perhaps we should encase the UK in a hermetically sealed, temperature-controlled national millenium dome or something  :nutter: )
Thing is: you can actually do something about the cold, the heat is different, unless you get good A/C units. But most of them just use _a lot_ of energy without providing the relieve.

I got the impression that what we will be seeing soon is a release candidate or something like that. I wouldn't be surprised if we find some bugs, if it's only now being compiled.

But yes, interesting times...
Not that it hasn't been all along (well, I just recently got it myself, but still).

Yes. The idea is this:

To my best knowledge it's finished. So, what's been called a preview is now being called a beta (definition of beta includes full-featuredness). Of course, 95% of the stuff is tested pretty well already, but the latest stuff might still have bugs to be fixed.

The next two weeks or so will be all about bugfixes and stuff I might have overseen. In parallel I/we will work on the website, the manual, final presets etc.

Oh yes, and I'm confident that the PC version will be posted here in a couple of hours. Just have to go through it and ensure everything works as expected.

Later,

;) Urs

Perfect! We are waiting excitedly with our magnifying glasses. :-)
Seriously, I have never felt so good about buying into something.

Superb! I've got 3 weeks of vacation starting in 2 hours sharp, so your timing is perfect. :D

Well boys, I just arrived back home and booted Win. Got a clear and tight schedule, it should only be a question of a few hours:

- new dialog for preset backup/overwrite/cancel upon saving if a preset with that name already exists
- remove SSE2 code unless it's only executed after a cpu check
- evaluate new file handling for other files, such as MidiCC mappings and serials (could do that later as well)

Oh... and you'll probably want to have the Zebralette presets as well... that'll take a while, I gotta save them all with the new version first... I'll add a download link later...

;) Urs
