Yeah, I wonder how much the Korg development culture reflects the Japanise orientation to the projects. I mean, how different it really is, comparing to e.g. German or U.S.? How international thier team is, etc. Anyway, they have a great tradition, and the present Korg sofware emulation are brilliant. On the other hand, some quirkines, such as some wrinkles in the implementation and the support policy.
They are superb, in any case.

I don't think they should include 32 bit with the updated plugins, but I do think they should allow the old plugins to be available for people that may need to install them for legacy reasons.db3 wrote:+1 Time to move on.tristan- wrote:I can't see any point of continued support for 32bit in 2018. Few days ago I jumped and completed my KC by buying M1 and Wavestation while they are still discounted.
I have 7 years old laptop running Win 10 and I thought I have enough lightweight musical tools to make it a portable workstation (it's i7 1.3 GHz 4/8 cores/threads).All will be 64 bit as I don't think I'll install any 32bit version, because I only have one synth that I don't use much.
Sure, all the old KLC will run great with Reaper and Other synths/drums like Sylenth1, FM8 and Battery 4, but I'm not sure to include ARP Odyssey in my light setup. It would stay in the desktop pc which handles it just fine

RME Fireface FF400 to be exact.T11 wrote:(Haven't read the whole thread)
Korg ARP Odyssey in standalone mode on Win10 seems to have problems switching to ASIO for some users.
It causes the app to crash.
How many here have experienced this?
UAD Apollo FireWire and RME Fireface are among the affected.
So could this be a Odyssey + firewire-issue?!
If you have a firewire-card and Win10, please try this out and post result here.

I have no such problems. I switched between AudioBox (Presonus) ASIO and ASIO4All without a problem. I also switched between ASIO and DirectSound with no crash.T11 wrote:RME Fireface FF400 to be exact.T11 wrote:(Haven't read the whole thread)

The answer is already on the very first page.braj wrote:Nope, not yet.Ghost Dog wrote:TLDR (in order not to sift through 76 pages of text): the interface of the old plugins hasn't been updated yet?
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

EUREKA! I forgot the KLC also has stand-alone versions. That's the perfect solution - just run it standalone with my Rise 25 or KeyStep. Brilliant!
The difference is that all your old movies will still play just fine on your new player. Would you be so happy if your new player meant having to re-purchase all your existing movies? Because that's the problem we're facing - none of the songs we've made over the last 20 or so years can be opened or played in a 64 bit host so we either have to spend hundreds of hours remaking all those songs or never perform them again.Stefken wrote:I recently bought a new mediaplayer because the old could not play the new H265 standard.
Did I have to? No, the 'old' movies play just fine on my previous player. But if you want to enjoy the benefits of the new toys, you have to upgrade.
Did you bother to read anything I wrote? Because I'd be more than happy to change if change was a viable option. In fact, to that specific end I spent more than $500 last year, only to discover that it's not.braj wrote:I don't know what is more 'self absorbed', expecting people to deal with changes in technology, or expecting to be catered to because you refuse to change.
Assuming a bit-bridge will work reliably, which the anecdotal evidence seems to suggest is pot luck. But we're working on it at the moment, so hopefully we'll be on the right side of the coin toss. You can still use your 32 bit plugins on a 64 bit system if you use a bit bridge.
I buy a new PC every year, my OS is the latest version with every update and patch available and my host software is completely up to date. It's the projects I made 15 years ago (or 5 years ago) that are the problem when it comes to a 64 bit host. Why is this so difficult for you to get your head around? If you expect new plugins to work with your 15 year old DAW/computer combo without a bit of work on your end, forgive me if I think you are the one with 'self-absorbed' issues.

OK, a project you created 5 or 15 years ago obviously didn't include Korg's new Odyssey plugin, the others still have 32 bit versions. And bit bridges do work, so change is a viable option, and just FYI, a fact of life.
