Hold down the music button for about 5 or 7 seconds and it will tell you.

Possibly, I got mine july 1st, how do i check what firmware version i have?

IMHO a delay in determining that a note was struck would be a triggering delay, not a tracking delay.

There is no tracking in the YRG; so no tracking delay. The switch under the membrane fretboard is an on-off device, and effectively determines the correct note instantly.
Not to split hairs too much, but I believe 'tracking delay' refers to any delay introduced by any means between the time a note is sounded and the time MIDI data leaves the instrument.

That includes pitch-to-midi conversion time in those types of systems (not the YRG of course), or resolution of a fretted note in a sonar type system. It would also include any delay introduced by determining that a note was actually struck.

Still, since I haven't tested it yet, I don't know when the MIDI data leaves a YRG - the internal sounds trigger instantly (if they trigger...), but the MIDI data could leave the guitar next Tuesday for all I know :)

The only delay/lag/latency is going to be in the DAW, not the YRG.

DL'd the latest firmware, it's definitely an improvement. But the new stuff is not compatible with the old control panel. And it's still way too de-sensitive. I miss about 1/3 of my struck notes, and I'm pounding on the strings (firm finger-picking). With sensitivity control, things will get a lot better.

Loosened the strings, no real change. Loosened the plate, no real change. We need that control panel!

Post

Sounds like an old version of control panel?
What version have you got?

Post

Pre-Alpha...v.0.003

Won't work with the latest firmware.

Post

I think mine is 0,008 or 13 I will check when I come home

@Maruuk: Is this a problem that the Yamaha EZ-AG also suffers from? Just curious if Yamaha did better at the right-hand picking than Inspired...

FWIW - the YRG Control Panel V0.001 does work with the 1045 Firmware on my WinXP Netbook.

While YRG Control Panel V0.003 does not.

Hopefully the official YRG Control Panel version will arrive soon

How does one get one of these latter-version CPs?

Post

The EZ-EG has zero sensitivity problems. It has no adjustment, and needs none. We're talking about YAMAHA here, they make stuff that works.

i hardly think i am the only one, who have that version,
but i got it with the reflash program, b/c i got my YRG bricked.

I want to see the Starr Labs Rock controller released, at 1st Harvey said maybe $250, then he said could be as low as $99. That's all I've heard, might not be anywhere near there really.

I don't know where you got that information. All of Harvey's instruments cost money because the are all manufactured in his small shop in the San Diego area. Thre is no way he could naimtain that type of quality and be able to sell it at the prices you mention. I bought if he has a field of backers like III and has worked out a deal with a chinese manufatureer. I would advise you ask in the starr labs forum on yahoo.
