We'll do what we've been doing for the last 20 years. If it works today there is no reason it won't still work tomorrow. I've got enough stuff if my 32 bit sonic arsenal to keep me going for decades and, even though Orion was officially discontinued several years ago, it keeps on working on the latest 64 bit version of Windows 10 so there is no reason to think it won't continue to do so. I'd love to get this Odyssey plugin but it's not worth 1% of the hassle that moving to 64 bit would involve at this time so it's no real loss. In fact, it saves me money.

The people who miss out are the companies like Korg who lose sales by not catering to the whole market. Maybe in five years it won't matter but right now I think it definitely does.
And what happens when you can no longer get parts for your PC to run a 32 bit system? Eventually, every OS and every piece of hardware is going to be exclusively for 64 bit. And as hard drives don't last forever (My longest was 10 years) eventually you're going to have to upgrade unless you've got tons of spare stuff down in the basement.

ok so it's been asked in the thread and we've got a bunch of reports about this thread going way off topic (I mean a bunch). For me to go through 80 pages and split the thread will be my evening, require me locking this thread for a couple of hours and could go for naught. Can we please get back on topic about the new Korg Arp Odyssey emulation? If you want to continue about 32 bit vs 64 bit please start a thread in the appropriate forum...please and thank you :)

Someone asked if Korg will update MS-20 (and other VA synths) sound engine to be more like the hardware. I also have maybe a related question!
Do the iOS VA synths differ in sound from the PC/Mac version? I thought it is just the GUI and some additional features in the iOS. Although I have iPad but I don't have any Korg there. Maybe someone has both versions and knows the answer?
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

I posted a link somewhere in this thread that compared the plugin, the iOS version, and the hardware reissue, it seemed to say they are all similar but different. The iOS version though has a lot more features than the older plugin, I really hope they all make it over when the plugin is revamped.

Korg still did not reply to my support case. I've paid for a synth that I can't use due to copy protection measures.
Guess I'll soon do what may not be mentioned here.

How did you contact them? Try the link in my signature, I've gotten prompt responses to everything I've submitted so far.

Do you mean the ARP Odyssey? I have seen the comparison, but I wonder if there is info about the other VA synths.

Oh well, I like the PC version anyway :hihi:

Yeah, it isn't bad, sounds better with a bit of effects, but that is true with most synths. I really like the look and features of the iOS version, I really hope the Ms20 in the first one to get a retrofit, kitted out like that. That would be a big improvement.

I would love it if they change the GUI of the synths to be like the ones in iOS. And that SQ1 emulation? I hope they do it soon. I would pay for it gladly :D

As far as im concerned i will be happy to follow your request.

I didnt have anything more to say anyway.

But in response to what youve just said let me just say one last thing.

This thread is about the updated KLC and the new Odyssey. Both these products have been made 64bit only, which means all 32bit users are being hung out to dry. To talk about this fact can thus not be 'off topic' as it directly concerns the very subject of this thread. The fact that some people just dont want to hear it is their problem and does not give them the right to call for the suppression of the voices of those who are affected by said fact. KVR is still an open and public forum and noone here with the exception of the owner and his staff gets to dictate what aspects of a subject can or cannot be discussed. You should therefore not feel obliged to respond to any such request, especially in light of the fact that some of these same 64bit advocates never have a problem taking their griefs and opinions into other threads when they are the ones who are affected. (See Viper thread for a current example, it speaks for itself.)

I dont disagree at all and if you notice I haven't split the thread, it was exactly what you said, a request. There does come a time when these arguments just start going in circles and this is no exception, often they just burnout (hence "could go for naught"). Also there comes a time when perhaps the subject deserves it's own thread, especially in this case because as your post makes clear it's not the only software going only 64 bit. This tangent simply opens the door for more people to come in and complain about other software going further off topic and perhaps we've approaching that point. Trying to maintain a balance is the goal, those who wish to talk about other aspects of KLC also have a right to have their points made and questions answered too.

How many threads like this have been locked because of endless debates over say copy protection. Copy protection is indeed part of software and the decision to purchase the software so it too is indeed on topic, but when it dominates the discussion and becomes a distraction to other aspects it becomes an issue. You start seeing popcorn, "IBTL" and then the lock.

So to be clear my request was also an explanation of why I haven't taken action. I do appreciate your point because it does back that up, but then I'm not the only mod and another mod after 15 plus pages of this might say "enough". :)
