I bet they are. But who wouldn't be, knowing their synth has the most annoying copy protection ever? KVR is somsvs wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2020 12:45 pmno. Even if there would be 100 here in this board (where we are far away from, its more like 10) we have thousands on the other side, who are happy. So, if enough buyers would stress you to remove Codemeter, you would do?

Somewhat answering you and also several others: Atmospherica’s granular patches are demanding. I have a lowly 2011 iMac with a SandyBridge i7 that can choke on complex passages with granular patches with long tails and/or VA patches with several stacked oscillators. I get the same results with similar Falcon patches and with the power-hungry Diva. This phenomenon isn’t unique to Avenger, or am I missing something said back several pages in the thread? I adapt my playing. I guess that is because I remember playing synths with 8 note polyphony back in the day.m-ac wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2020 6:11 pmWhat speed is your processor, and what buffer size do you use? Are you using logic? Do you have the atmospherica expansion by any chance?MachineClaw wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2020 5:00 pm Avenger plays well on my MacBook Pro BUT I have an i9 cpu and 32gb ram and have not upgraded to Catalina yet. Still on Mojave. No clue on older Mac machines.
Avenger can be a beast so I got the biggest baddest Mac book pro and spared no expense cause I knew I didn’t want issues with cpu spikes n ram shortages.
Did the same with my pc desktop.
If you let me know what expansions you have, we can do a side by side comparison to see how our cpu's compare.

you have a 9 year old machine (and a Mac). Avenger (and Falcon / Diva) may need more power

Well, fools, I can run a hundred Falcon instances on my machine, but often only one Avenger. Please explain. Is Avenger a hundred times superior then over Falcon?

which 10 years old system is still "strong"? I have a PC Studio Tower which is as old as your system. And it has one of the first i7 CPU generation and a big RME Interface ... but my current middle class Gaming Laptop kills it easily.dune_rave wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2020 7:17 pm I'm satisfied with Avenger.
I run it on a 10 year old -but strong - pc, with windows 10.
I like it as it is, and don't blame the devs.
I understand their decision about copy protection.
Avenger is quite complex, but not as overcomplicated like reaktor or Falcon.
Of course It would be good to see some cpu performance improvement, there's no synth plugin it's not on the todo list.
The latest bigger addition to its features was this multiloop feature - somehow i just don't find it useful. But overall it's a super synth.

I just revitalized a 10 year old Mac Pro. Still performs at the level of a 2020 gaming laptop. Nothing mind blowing but still very usable.clipnotic wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2020 12:11 amwhich 10 years old system is still "strong"? I have a PC Studio Tower which is as old as your system. Nothing too serious, apparently some users had/having a hard time to understand the new cp. Any some other guys who messed up their XPs by mixing them with warezed ones. Other than that, all is working good.sacer wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2020 9:15 am What’s the problem with this copy protection?
Look at the native Instruments topic, how they solve copy protection for their old stuff ....

e.g. cm container broken, server not available/error during activation, activated multiple or none licenses, issues with beta/regular licenses, processes running *all the time* which are needed for the cp, issues in combination with other copy protection mechanisms, manual renewal after x days, antivirus triggering because cm uses malware like methods internet data exchange.sacer wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2020 9:15 am What’s the problem with this copy protection?

btw the same problem NI has right now with customers not being able to activate their older products is something Avenger customers will face too.
