Why? You can set Wet to 100%, no prob.

You can just not get 100% dry. To get the real deal (i.e. 100% cancellation with -50% mix) I had to apply the same phase mangling to the "dry tape" as happens to the wet tape. Hence a mix of 50% is not the same as the vdry signal mixed with 100% on a bus.

This all makes sense only for the flanging fetishist. In normal use (or as chorus) you can just go 100% mix on a send.

sockofgold wrote:So Urs, is this introductory price only for existing cutomers? I'm not a current customer (yet... although I sent you a dinosaur crossgrade pic last night), but I am definitely interested.
That's the point of this "shop beta test offer". $99 for a couple of days, and an extension on the same deal for existing cutomers.

Very soon. I already have *all* major plugs going in RTAS (MFM2, Filterscape, Zebra, 3C), but Uhbik requires surround support. Hence I need a couple of days to implement that in the RTAS layer. I'd say January, before of after NAMM.

EDIT: Wait... so $149 will be the absolute lowest price we can get it at?

Well... crap. =/
rbet = existing customer = 99$ now and for the rest of December, maybe half way right into January.

made the purchase, the codes worked fine.
Thanks!
will the patches I save be compatible with the official released versions?
Yes. I can't think of any major changes. Modulation is a bit weak in the reverb, but maybe that's not really so important for existing algorithms (more to come in later releases)
(maybe a small bug)... the previous and next patch buttons sometimes take multiple clicks to trigger.
Could be. I don't have many presets yet, so I havn't tested this in depth...
I think the lack of presets will help me learn these plugs better in the long run (although I certainly look forward to some killer patches 8) )
I sure hope so!

Sneak peak (no docs, no presets):

http://www.u-he.com/UhbikMacInstall_081208.zip (VST + AU)
http://www.u-he.com/UhbikWinstaller_091208.zip (VST)

They run in demo mode though... and they may need some patches & docs to fully exploit the possibilities...

click here if you would like to try the store & obtain reg codes. This is for the very brave only, but the price won't be any better ever... (pre-order may be around 149$, final $199) - it's also the first time I'm using a fully automated system... write to anybody at u-he com in case of problems

;) Urs

P.S.: RTAS Mac comes in January earliest, because I havn't sussed out surround support yet.
holy shit, they sound amazing. can i buy these now?
i am not a current customer, yet. :]
There's a link, labelled "click here". It's at the same price that existing customers get from somewhen next week on :-o

Will you be in LA for NAMM? If so, could I convince you to stop by our booth and say hello? It's pretty big... you can't really miss it if your in the main hall. :hihi:

I'm gonna pick up a prestigeous award I'm not allowed to talk about yet and then maybe join for the first day. It will take a *lot* to convince Grrrl to go a second day. Maybe if I send her over to Disney... hmmm... 8)

Yeah, sorry, I noticed that as soon as I actually downloaded and opened the plug

Reading the manual it sounded like the knob had full "A" in the center, and then A-B and A+B were both on opposite ends of the knob rather than indicating the whole range, so I thought that you could never get more than a 50/50 wet/dry mix... now I see that I'm wrong, and I CAN do vibrato with uhbik-F as well as chorus and flanging.

Post

You can btw. do Vibrato also with Uhbik-T (Haas Delay) and Uhbik-D. A special form of Vibrato will be possible with Uhbik-X, in which you can use an LFO to modulate Uhbik-S. However, Uhbik-F is the first choice for Vibrato with the most straight-forward controls and indeed zero delay (after 16 samples PDC).

Done, registration works fine. Thank you for the smashing deal.

sinkmusic wrote:Wooo, i have installed the demo : That Flanger looks really great (amazing GUI), the reverb sounds damn sweet (and so does the filter indeed), and one of the efx i thought i wouldn't care much (the Eq) reveals itself as so well designed that it can become quickly a must-have !

Urs, you're very skilled at designing your plugins (feature-wise and gui-wise) : in a bunch of well-known efx, you manage to find a neat balance between classic and innovative features, easy and quick to quick, and deep and more creative stuff. It's like you never played with a parametric eq before : what kind of voodoo is at work in here ?
Thanks! No voodoo. Just no plain standard eq algorithms. The hi/locut for instance are ladder filters (as in a "Moog-filter"). The bells are tuned for minimum ringing, using multiple stages of peaking filters. The shelving filters adjust q with depth, preserving a certain "working point". I guess you don't have that very often, but it makes sense to me.
Any hint/screenshot about the big badass multiFX (i must confess it might be the one interesting me the most, as i dig tweaking and routing and patching, and as each unit is making me very happy right now) ?
(I'd also be curious to know if it might be redundant with the ZebraFX version that will come at some point. I guess both should live happily and peacfully along together :D )

Now, back to play with that bundle ! !
And thanks for the sooner-than-expected release !
Uhbik-X? - Major construction area. Almost fully working though. But the gui is the last thing I worry about, it's usually done in a day or two once the rest is up and running. Here's what I currently work with:

haha, anyway, I know the individual effects are more than good enough to wait for uhbik X... I can't figure out certain bits of the delay or tremelo at first glance (mostly the pattern modes on the trem), so I wouldn't mind manuals either

Will it be able to place effects in the feedback of a delay? I know you mentioned it being able to do crazy multiband and delay stuff, but I don't remember what exactly that entailed.

Pattern-X - Channel Offset moves the current pattern forward and backward per channel, giving you really cool stereo effects

Pattern-Y - Channel Offset gives you different patterns per channel

Yes. There'll be several routings to choose from (much like Filterscape) with different things you can do. Some are multiband modes (Flanger on Treble, TranceGate on Mids anyone?), some are Uhbiks-In-A-Delay modes. Some may be both.
