No, don't protest, we are bored to death, there's no denying it.
Good.
A diversion comes along and what do we do? We let it go to waste ...
In an instant all will vanish and we'll be alone once more, in the midst of nothingness!

If you are not bothered by PDC, it's totally cool. The only thing I'd say is they are certainly dabbling in pros outside the DJ arena. There are many fans of abe far and wide.ghettosynth wrote:hibidy wrote:Well, considering that the biggest threads (where relevant) are about PDC, they clearly are not listening. They don't even bother to respond.ghettosynth wrote:
TBH, the PDC issue doesn't bother me much in Reason or Live. Granted, I produce at a snails pace, but, am I the customer that they care must about, or is it guys griping about PDC? Which one of us is the "purchasing" majority?
There are so many people that are like "it will come around" or "perfection takes time" or "think about what the cavemen had to use" (and 600,000 cliche lines) that like you said, the few that gripe don't matter.
For everything bitwig will do better, there will be at least one major counterpart.
I hear ya, and of course, I risk sounding like a bigger dumbass than I do already, but seriously, I'm not bothered by PDC, or, at least if I am, I don't know that's what's causing any problems. I only have two other hosts to compare it with, cubase and reaper. Cubase is essentially dead to me, I only use it every once in a while and I have no intention of upgrading from version 5.x.
I suspect that the vast majority of customers are in a similar camp. I don't think that Ableton is trying to compete with pros outside of the DJ/Producer circle. I wonder if they think that responding to the gripes will just create a bigger headache.
Perhaps someone can suggest a good way of hearing the PDC issue? What kinds of problems would you expect it to cause?
Ok, never mind, I just read this:
https://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?p=1263901
Now I know why it doesn't cause me grief.
Of course, and as they grow, they'll have to dot the i's and cross the t's. But their core customers are the EDM market. I remember where they came from, they were competing with Sonic Forge's Acid (before selling to sony). They aren't really competing directly with Cubase, well, Steinberg might think so, but not really.hibidy wrote: If you are not bothered by PDC, it's totally cool. And if not 2013?trusampler wrote:Summer Namm 2013 is in July, Bitwig have already mentioned they are working hard on it, and are trying to get it out by the end of this summer, and if not then,in 2013.
Actually it can be very productive. It lets you pick out problems that are program wide vs. issues caused by specific environments and use cases.Echoes in the Attic wrote:I can fully understand why they have to limit the number of testers anyways. Too many reports of the same thing is not productive.
If they have any sense of humor at all they'll turn this little debacle to their advantage when they release with a funny ad campaign that directly makes fun of the insanely long delay.hibidy wrote:And if not 2013?
Yeah, the same topic where they stated they were aware and planned to work on it after release. I share with you your furstation with pdc but if you are gonna quote things from the beta forum at least do it right.hibidy wrote:Oh yeah, and @ thread you posted, trust me, it was the most popular topic in the live 9 beta testing. But even then it was only like 300 posts, so what to do.
They are and have been totally aware of the problem and don't care for some time.
I had personally hoped that they would work on this with 9, oh well.

EDIT, I see, you just added .jpg. Will try to remember that if I run into it again
