Iv been loving this EQ, even the design has grown on me. They seem to have taken 5 different EQ and mixed them into one. From what I can tell they are inspired by:

Low End Bands = Pultec EQP-1A
Low End Bell (maximum Q) = SSL E Channel Low end bell

Low Mid Band = API 550A (Hi Q = 4x narrower bell )
High Mid Band = Neve 1073

High Band = MaagEQ4
wasn't high mid band from massive passive?
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

I copy paste from GS.
Diogo C /quote

Low Band: Pultec EQP1A when on shelf mode

Mid Low Band: API 550

Mid High Band: Massive Passive

High Band: Sonimus' creation

Filters: inspired by Neve's 1073.

the high-mid band is sweeter and smoother than low-mid, but if you switch to "mid Q", the high-mid band becomes more agressive

When I tested it against the Neve 1073 from URS, the EQ curves overlapped perfectly, even when switching between the Hi and Low Q. I dont have a Massive Passive to test against, but the EQ curves seem to be identical the Neve.

Absolutely stellar EQ!!!

Interesting question: if I already own Waves H-EQ, do I even need to get this EQ? Granted, I still want it, but I need to set priorities.

djshire,
I might be able to help you. I suck at recording acoustic guitars! Always had problems. I have tried eq after eq trying to find something that could help fix my mistakes. Anyway, when I was reading posts about SonEq I really felt the same as you. I tried the demo 2 days ago and I went straight to my horribly recorded acoustic guitar tracks and in about 5min I was already smiling :) I just turned some knobs and I felt like I was sitting at a analog board! I was finding sweet areas that I could NEVER get before. The high end is sweet!!! Also, I was finding I had choices if that makes any sense. Also was trying on a kick drum last night and was having a blast cause I was getting some really cool sounds I couldnt get before. The low end is amazing!!! So unlike alot guys on these forums I am NOT that good at recording and I am always needing to fix stuff because of that. This eq has made that MUCH easier!!!!!!! Hope this helps..

Is this eq somehow compareable to elysia museq? I wonder which one to get out of those two. (If i demo them i'll buy both)

That makes two of us.

Tom's post made me check out the demo a bit closer (I almost discounted it because of that abnormal GUI faux perspective).

In fact, I had a couple of acoustic guitar tracks that sounded so-so and - Tom was right! After some twiddling, my ears started smiling, even to the point where I could disregard the misconceived GUI. ;-)

Incidentally, the absence of any frequency display (just like on Air EQ), forces me to listen without visual prejudice. A display is fine for surgical stuff, but for musical tweaking, less is usually more, I find.

I bought SonEQ Pro on the spot.

Thanks, Tom!

If it were easy, anybody could do it!

Love that!

Amazing EQ!

Thank you for the REAL DEMO also!

The only thing I personally miss:
a possibility to boost the high end even more
(as there are situations when this is really needed).

Also I don't know if there are some presets included in a full version.

Good luck with this!

Add another instance or different EQ and just boost what you want
