Depends on the installer - some installers can't be unpacked (newer versions of Inno, for example). But that's exactly what I'm doing for NI installers, Universal Extractor is awesome!

Post

with a few more addons all inno installers are supported.
yes that NI updates are a pain.

back to topic now!

No gui work, sorry. Still hunting down Satin bugs :-?

Just posted this to relieve users from MIDI Note On timing bug...
Sorry only just saw this, will install to confirm it works on my end :)

Looks ok now Urs, good job :)

I'm using the Total Commander UniExtract plugin... not sure what can be done with that one.

You could also install into a sandbox.

But that does not really solve the problem, because you can install parallel without sandbox and without extracting, but you (at least me) cannot use parallel.

I don't know if it is a DAW problem:

I have installed Zebra 2.6.

Then I installed the new beta in a different folder.

Ableton Live's plugin browser now shows two Zebra.dlls, the 2.6 and the new beta. So far so good.

But now the funny part: wheter I choose the 2.6 or the beta, both dlls open only the beta version one.

Strange...

Unfortunately since this new beta I only had the timing problem with Diva. Now also Zebra has an unpleasant swing factor. It happens if the buffer size is higher than 512 samples. I work with 2048 samples which reduces CPU spikes. I'm on Windows 7 (64 bit), Cubase 6.0.7 (64 bit). My sound card is a Delta Audiophile and Zebra runs as VST2. Other VSTi work fine with that buffer size.

Hmmm... are you 100% certain the revision number (bottom right below XYs) matches 2079?

Thanks,

I downloaded the new beta from page 8 of this thread and installed it but for 100% certainty I will take a look again tomorrow when I'm back in the studio.

The timing is perfect now. But I have strange behaviour (may be bug, may be just my poor patch design). Here you can hear strange clicks in the second part of example.

Also here is the patch.

Turning attacks smoothing on isn't helping here, just attenuates clicks. Also you can switch off Dist1, OSC2 and XMF1, and the clicks are still heard, although XMF1 helps to hear it clearer (because when it is turned off the clicks are masked by high harmonics).

Everything is fine now. After installing the new beta I had 2 Zebras in the VST folders and Cubase took the old one. The timing of Rev. 2079 is perfect. Sorry for almost ruining your weekend with false alarms

Andreas

Phewwww :phew:

My weekend isn't ruined by you. It's merely ruined by the absence of a bug elsewhere... gotta figure out what went wrong with the Bug friday challenge in the other thread

Just want to add: the problem certainly is in dist2. If to switch it off and switch on the clicks disappear but then appear again. It looks like there is a problem with DC-offset filter.

Zebra rev 2079 Win
I'm a bit lost here. I installed this version, but when I open Zebra, I got this version number:

Revision seems ok though:

So is this the new update, or am I on the beta now? The fonts of the GUI seems different to my old Zebra install, kind of fizzled.

Because the Distortion-Modules are there, but aren't they supposed to be only in the beta (the second file)?

Edit: I installed the 2036-version as well - but I cannot spot a difference between the 2079 and the 2036? Maybe someone can enlighten me...

You're on the beta.

And yes, fonts are indeed tiny and "fizzy" a bit compared to the regular version.
