If you spend time here that you would use to use Bitwig (or make music or ...) that's _your_ problem. I've actually spend more time on the toilet than workaroundig in Bitwig, but I don't know to what conclusion that fact is leading ...Tj Shredder wrote: Sat Mar 06, 2021 12:59 pm The time I “waste” here at KVR outweighs the time I need to find workarounds by magnitudes.
I'm talking generally, not about Bitwig or audio programs.Tj Shredder wrote: Sat Mar 06, 2021 12:59 pm In the end its not waisted time, its time you switch into a different mind set, which helps to reflect on the essence of your work.
But you can certainly help telling me in what way having to copy every MIDI clip that I want to export to a new, empty project to export it helps reflecting on the essence of my work (except as a software developer, to remind me that I should avoid making the life of 'my users' difficult without a reason).
As I said, there are workarounds that are a creative challenge and there are workarounds that are a senseless PITA.
And generally users are _way_ too tolerant of such errors (by design, implementation or because of a bug), so that software quality still (more often than not) is an oxymoron.
That's actually a problem of 'modern' work, you learn this kind of working and/or problem solving in every bigger company. But sometimes it is necessary to talk about what and how to do the work beforehand - you just need to learn whenpdxindy wrote: Sat Mar 06, 2021 2:12 pmIf there were some volunteers, some would inevitably be standing around discussing how the task could be sped up, be more 'efficient' (less labor) and so on. If I didn't step in and say something, they would end up spending more time discussion how to make it 'easier' than just doing it.ReleaseCandidate wrote: Sat Mar 06, 2021 10:00 am The problem is the time spent finding workarounds vs. doing something productive.
That's true, same as there are people that always blame their tools of not getting work done at all or in a, well, not optimal waypdxindy wrote: Sat Mar 06, 2021 2:12 pm I've seen this in many different venues... people spending more time trying to get out of doing work, than the time it takes to do the work.
But we are talking about choosing between using a power tool from manufacturer A or B, or to sell power tool B. [All characters have been chosen arbitrarily and should in no way reflect real company names like bleton or itwig
