My stock excuse is boozea-type wrote:Oh man... u-he.... I rely so much on u-he for the work I do I can't not participate this month..! Completely missed the train on the past few OSC's due to the usual stock excuses (work, life etc.) but am definitely going to try and get a song in this month! I owe it to my u-he fanboy heart.

This is the first time I am trying to participate in an OSC. I am using Ardour on Linux which doesn't have any "build-in" effects. So I wanted to ask if it is OK according to the rules if I use Invada Compressor and EQ4Q (4-Band EQ with LP and HP filters) on a per track basis and Calf Vintage Delay and TAL Reverb-II (or -III) on FX busses as pligins? TIA, Jan

Any external effect is fine! As long as it's freely available / non-commercial.lentferj wrote:This is the first time I am trying to participate in an OSC. After one hour tweaking the so called "snare" I only managed to get something like a poor and cheap version of a Kraftwerk snare
..layering and reverb would for sure have given me a better result but let's face it, all though Podolski is a great synth it will never be a great drum machine
..so I just accepted the fact.

I'm looking at this (an electronic music in general) as "f**k it... It's not a snare. Why does it have to sound like a snare?" The main point is that there's a rhythmic sound that occupies the same frequency spectrum.ATN69 wrote:After one hour tweaking the so called "snare" I only managed to get something like a poor and cheap version of a Kraftwerk snare..layering and reverb would for sure have given me a better result but let's face it, all though Podolski is a great synth it will never be a great drum machine

Yup! Good Point. Kraftwerk, Jean-Michelle Jarre, etc, had many snare sounds in their early years that actually did not sound like a snare at all.DruMunkey wrote:I'm looking at this (an electronic music in general) as "f**k it...
