There is a new MuLab 7.2.14 in http://www.mutools.com/galaxa/

What's new since MuLab 7.2.10:
  • Grain Player: Added a new mode: Playback II. In this mode the effective grain length is independent of the pitch.
  • Upon startup, when opening projects using samples that have changed in length meanwhile, now any updated markers are reported for your info.
  • When ReWire is not installed, this could create an error log. Fixed.
  • Fixed a recent new graphical bug when dragging front panel components.
  • Fixed a possible memory corruption.
How to install:

Windows: Put the new .exe and .id files into an existing M7.2 installation folder.
Mac: Put the new .app file into an existing M7.2 installation folder.

I just stepped through this with MuLab 7.2.14 on Sierra. Modifying this preference feature worked as expected for me. e.g Edit Preferences/Audio Stream Block Size/Edit to change value to 1024. Click done. Then close Mulab. When opened and selected again the value is shown as 1024.

The default is 750. Is there any benefit to increasing to 1024?

I have logs if you are interested.

Increasing that value is not necessary on most modern systems. I remember only one case ver all the last years where a user mentioned it mae a difference on his slower mac laptop, but that's years ago.

hmm yeah it never made a drastic difference, but my processor is pretty slow so I wanted to try and get the most out of it, for ableton 1024 usually did the job. It's definitely a personal problem. thanks for testing it toxicoh

in case you are interested Jo, I think there's a miniscule esthetical 'flaw' in the audio editor during playback (on the right side above the box that shows the cursor location) it's like the waveform shifts up or is scattered. not that it bothers me but maybe for the overall 'polish' of your product

I Sounds like you're confusing the audio file stream block size (in the preferences) with the audio engine's buffers size. The first is only related to streaming audio files ie playing audio parts, the latter is affecting the whole MuLab system, including VSTs etc. It's the latter that you might want to increase so to have less dropouts on a slower system. On Windows, you can increase the audio engine buffer size via MuLab menu -> Audio Setup. For ASIO click Control Panel, for MME increase the number of buffers and/or buffer length. Experiment with it to get best values for your system.

Thanks for reporting this!

Yes I seem to be confusing these. The funny thing is, to my knowledge on a mac you could only change the audio buffer size from within the DAW, not the system preferences (mac equivalent of control panel) I just googled this to confirm it. And apparently the same goes for my external soundcard's driver. So I'm kinda stuck on that now :ud:

Post

Ah you're on Mac. Indeed then change the buffer size in the audio driver control panel. Your external soundcard's driver should have a control panel with buffer size options. If you can't find it, check the support of the sound card manufacturer.

There is a new MuLab 7.2.16 in http://www.mutools.com/galaxa/

What's new:
  • The "Rounded Corners" preference has been renamed to "Button & Frame Corners" and now has 3 options instead of only 2 before. The default rounding of buttons and corners now is a more subtle one.
  • Added a new preference "Button Gradient Intensity". The more this goes to zero, the more flat the buttons are.
  • The "Audio Level Solid Display" preference has been renamed to "Audio Level Display Style" and now is a percent value so you have smooth control over whether audio level meters should look solid or interleaved, or something in-between. The new default is a quite solid one but with a subtle interleaving.
  • Fixed an audio waveform drawing bug that occurred in certain cases.
  • Dropping a parameter on a meta-parameter did not always popup the meta-parameter map dialog. Fixed.
  • The meta-parameter map dialog did not always close when pressing [Esc] as should. Fixed.
  • While scanning VSTs, even more detailed info is logged to the system log.
How to install:

Windows: Put the new .exe and .id files into an existing M7.2 installation folder.
Mac: Put the new .app file into an existing M7.2 installation folder.

Thank You and Maybe next update could deaw the envelope on the front of the sampler like this http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?pl ... ce&id=2342 and have the level meter vertical to add to front panel mux patches Guitar tuner would be great also And An Analyzer to view the level ?

Nice, the smooth corners look great, more subtle rounding. I like how it changes the look of the top bar. It looks more cohesive in my opinion :) And the button gradient is also a nice addition, I was hoping you'd do something like that. Thumbs up for fixing that waveform thing so fast. Looks smooth like butter now

Love the graphical enhancements!!! :tu:

Please add the gradient adjustments for front panel group frames

Another small suggestion, how about moving the Rack's +/- and on/off buttons to below the Rack name. This way you could see more of the racks name when it's minimised. If necessary make the rack taller.

New MuLab 7.2.17 packages on http://www.mutools.com/mulab/app-patch/index.html

What's new: Fixed a possible crash bug in the VST plug-in scanner.

What I find strange is that when editing several selected note bars at once in the editor, there are several weird options for shortening or extending, but no option for making all selected notes begin or end at the same location that one drags the cursor to.
Would save a lot of time when editing lots of chords like pads...

Post

I actually find most of those functions pretty useful in certain situations, it's always good to have those or more options.
What I do would find a useful addition is that when you duplicate multiple notes and drag them to the right (ctrl + drag) the editor view does not extend, so when it's say a 2 bar loop I can't drag it far enough or I have to zoom out but then I lose the accuracy. It's just a suggestion
