Not true as you get free lifetime update with FL Studio and Logic is Mac only anyway.

But I use a Mac anyway and I said "major player" :troll:

When you buy FL Studio, does that include all their synths and FX?
Not all but that isn't my point as you will pay full when Logic 11 comes out so the statement is simply not true. Fact is there is only one DAW in the world with free lifetime upgrades and that is outstanding. :hihi:
yeah, FL Studio is a good deal for sure...

If one were to purchase the full bundle FL Studio + All Plugins that would cost as much as Logic 10, Logic 11, Logic 12 and Logic 13 put together... it is gonna be like 20 years before there potentially even is a Logic 13. It is already 4 years and 10 is only at 10.3 - Apple could just keep going ...10.9, 10.10, 10.11 etc. It can easily be 5, 6, 7 or more years before a jump to Logic 11 that incurs additional cost.

Meanwhile, Logic 10 added Alchemy 2 and has since improved upon it... as part of free . updates. A synth like that IL would for sure charge for. They find other ways to get money... but get money they do.

Actually, working it out, this is ~30% off the current full price upgrade (ok, maybe a little more) and being the stingy guy I am, I am very likely to have only upgraded when there was a 30% offer running. Thus, the current price is actually relatively close to the previous upgrade prices - as others have noted.

I guess then the only somewhat stingy thing is the fact they aren't offering 30% off - which we know they will do eventually, during the 2018 Black Friday / Xmas sale, as they have done the last few years. But then again, why undercut yourself?

If you are a professional musician or DJ using Live to make money then it is great value and the update would be a no brainier. If you are a bedroom tinkerer then it probably seems very expensive, certainly compaired to other music making tools such ch as Reaper it Logic it is very expensive. I think Live should have gone to just one version, lowered the cost slightly and made the standard upgrade an amazing V10 deal, Live 10 standard is a fairly weak offering for the money in my opinion.
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

I have Signature and you talking about the "All plugins bundle" and what instruments you may get or not in addition to the main DAW which totally isn't the point here. IL will never ask me to pay for a DAW upgrade. You seem not to understand what a free lifetime upgrade for a DAW is.

I could say things like: You are so brainwashed that you even applaude Apple that they bound you to one platform and one sequencer. How crazy is that?

..but of course i wouldn't say that because it would missing the point as well. :D
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

generally u need Signature + Harmor (+ an EQ with colorization to able to not just cut for ex. Maag Audio EQ4, EQ of FL all are transparent ones) and done

It feels that the price to go from Suite 9 to Suite 10 is overpriced. Of course there have been many free in between updates to Live 9. The leap to 9.5 was great, and then again to 9.7 and the addition of Push 2.

I do not expect to see a Push 3 any time soon as Push 2 has fantastic integration with Live 10.

Only time will tell if the update is worth the price tag. I think 30% is also their biggest discount range on the Live line. Packs are sometimes discounted more.

$99-$125 would have sat right though....

You could say that... and what it shows is that you are the one strangely bound to Apple.

Yeah... if you consider all the free updates over the past years, it does not seem over-priced to me... or maybe a bit on the plump side :hihi:

The upgrade from my FL 11 to 12 producer edition actually gave me Sytrus with updated GUI, for free. So it's not like Apple is special.

I just buy them all, then there’s no problem.

Ableton Live, any version, is way overpriced.
