Thanks but that is what I have done. Check the screenshot.
Trouble is, with each full update these get overwritten and I have to keep updating my preferences.

Well thank you! To finish it, I need the rest of the GUI to be dark too, but patience is required!

Edit Preferences -> Panel Surface Texture Intensity -> set it to 0.Is there an option to rid us of gradients?
Is it that what you mean?

There is a MuLib folder for cool users to share cool themes by replacing the LooksSetup.xml file

Wow! Looks awesome! Would you mind sharing it? I'd love to try it outsl23 wrote: Mon Mar 18, 2019 9:31 pm Thank you for the updates.
I love the new colors options you added for the main toolbar, superb!
I do hope you can add some more for the other 'App' components so as to darken my current theme.
Is there an option to rid us of gradients? I dislike the MuSynth gradients as an example. Could we have that as an option please?
No rush, but would be great if they could be added during M8 lifetime.
Thanks again for a fantastic update!!! MuLab looks more pro than ever
EDIT: Here's a pic of my theme with MuSynth gradient removed, looks so much better imho...

Thanks Jo. I thought there was a setting just couldn't find it! Exactly what I wanted
Yeah sure. When I get a chance, I'll upload it, once I figure out how! Lol
Btw the rack and track colours are not part of the skin. I used blue for synth, Red for drums and orange for percussion.
Another small fr to humbly request. Could we please have option to save some favourite colours. Thank you.

Meanwhile, don't forget that you can do this by saving racks, tracks and empty parts as a template. Perhaps that is enough for now?sl23 wrote: Tue Mar 19, 2019 7:31 am Btw the rack and track colours are not part of the skin. I used blue for synth, Red for drums and orange for percussion.

[Edit: I thought you meant associate certain colors with certain instrument groups, but perhaps you were just asking for a favourite color palette in general?]

...speaking of which: I don't recall if I've mentioned this before, but I really don't want all my new parts to be named Sequence. So:
1. Could we please have an option saying "Set name of new parts to name track name"? If my track is named Drums, that would give Drums(1), Drums(2) etc.
2. Likewise - but might be tougher to implement, I'd like to select a number of parts (on one track) and set a collective name for them. So, if I have Drums(1), Drums(2) etc and then explode my track so I now just name it Snare, I should be able to select all my parts on the track and name them Snare(1), Snare(2) etc. (The same goes for colouring, but I think that can be done today.)
3. I'd also like to be able to hide the (1)'s after each sequence name. They make my songs look ugly
and I feel it annoys me when I move parts around and I suddenly end up with Drums(68), Drums(9) etc. So, a Preferences option saying "Hide part name numbers".

Tip: When working with colors note that you can drag-drop a color selector onto another color selector so to copy that color. Also note that you can right-click any color selector to edit its RGB values, Copy-Paste, etc...

About the auto indexing of equal names: What about completely dropping that and always leave it to the user?

Yes please, I'd love that, but I thought users with loop-based music styles needed this for some routing or automation reason.mutools wrote: Tue Mar 19, 2019 8:55 am About the auto indexing of equal names: What about completely dropping that and always leave it to the user?
Since you already have it in place, perhaps it would be better to keep it, but have it optional (?).

I'm not familiar with saving templates. Perhaps I should look at that.SparkySpark wrote: Tue Mar 19, 2019 8:07 am Meanwhile, don't forget that you can do this by saving racks, tracks and empty parts as a template. Perhaps that is enough for now?

The idea of colour Association with instrument types is something I'd thought of, but didn't request it as I didn't know if it were possible. For me that would be ideal, but it may not be others way of working.
Is this something likely to be considered? If not, then yes, a favourite colour palette would be a sort of compromise. This is useful as you can't drag n drop colours to different parts when theming for example. Btw thanks for the tip about drag n drop colours, never knew about that, great idea too!

Thx for your opinion. Also curious what other users think about dropping the automatic name indexing. If most users won't miss this functionality, then i prefer dropping it instead of optionalizing it. (practical note: In any case it's not for M8.0 anymore)SparkySpark wrote: Tue Mar 19, 2019 10:00 amYes please, I'd love that, but I thought users with loop-based music styles needed this for some routing or automation reason. The "Panel Surface Texture Intensity" does not seem to make much difference here. Editing (or removing) the gradient files makes much more difference.sl23 wrote: Tue Mar 19, 2019 7:31 am Thanks Jo. I thought there was a setting just couldn't find it! Exactly what I wanted![]()
