I can not figure when it is supposed to remember selections in different side button states and when it isn't. Like if I'm on Everthing view and have locations selected, but then switch to the bitwig devices and then back, should it not remember what I was looking at? They seem to switch between vendor, category, etc.
And yes I would much rather Collections just be a button the side that list the Collections in the browser itself rather than a temporary pop-up window.

That's the way it used to work, each content type section would retain its state so you could continue where you left off. But some idiot was put in charge of redesigning the browser, and that person doesn't understand the basic concept of the old browser. They came up with this browser concept that is fundamentally flawed, from an information architecture perspective, and inefficient. You have to go and find again where you left off every time you come back to a section. It's amazing how they convinced themselves that they had come up with something more efficient, when in fact we're now stuck in a situation where we have to click many more times to complete the same tasks. They downgraded the main browser.

I reported it. As I understand it, it's done by design, and they view it as a feature.
I started using an external sample browser.

Is that what they told you? That it is by design?

It's what I glean from the final V5 release notes, where they specifically point out the new navigation scheme for the main browser as a strong selling point for the new release.

If you're having to glean something, then you're not actually sure whether it's a purposeful change or just a bug.amg56 wrote: Sat Jul 01, 2023 8:57 pm It's what I glean from the final V5 release notes, where they specifically point out the new navigation scheme for the main browser as a strong selling point for the new release.
I'm gonna report it as a bug and see what they say.

Browsers are hardly a selling point, but might be a staying point… I found my way around the old browser and had nothing to complain, but now I am forced to learn it again, as its different than it was. That puts stress into my system, no matter if its better or worse than before.
It will change over time when I got used to it…
