Hey, MuTools. (Why isn't MuLab more popular?)

ackchyually most hip companies have a discord but if kids go there and nobody is posting... they dont stick around. just having one is good because kids expect it and if they engage and mutools engages back, it would build legitimacy and indicate that youre willing to meet the customer where they spend time and exchange information. naturally there can be delegates who keep pressure off of the man himself. plus, jo can make the odd appearance and get god level treatment. fun!

What if you just did something really cool that would appeal to a good many folks. For instance, incorporating analog style video synthesis into the modular system, so folks could use it to create 2D visualizations directly along the timeline. To name one potentially interesting area that's particularly lacking in the market today I think.
Expanding the modular system along the lines of Bitwig's Grid or M4L is another thing to consider in general, as those are both selling points of theirs, and not many DAW's are as primed to contend with them as mulab.

Uh huh, what you are suggesting is likely accurate. Could MuLab go viral on TikTok?? Is that what you're asking?FabBad wrote: Sat Feb 21, 2026 12:57 pm Where's Mulab discord?
This forum just aged bad, nobody (bellow 30's) visits this place, so while for us is ok, for the newest gen this is like a boomer's place, ("avoid it like facebook!").
The new fresh users resides on those social media, you know what I'm referring to.
my 2 cents.

Alright...not exactly sure how "much more professional" Fruity f**k*n Loops is compared to MuLab
but if you say so...

Sure, if you take the attack approach, where you are against the world, and everyone in it, you could become a broken asshole, also negative, and just plain frankly un-helpfull, and then what?
The notion of co-operatin' ...could that gain some momentum?

ackchyually other than the name, fls is quite advanced in many ways, in case you havent used it. all of its onboard synths are advanced. they arent available outside of fls however so theres no way to know that unless youre using it or watching that show how advanced it is. i get it, the name was suspect but thats as deep as that goes, the rest is advanced. 247 videos regarding using fls synths. thats one solid reason for the popularity of fls. fls has nothing to be ashamed of.

I know Fruity has some cool stuff...I demoed it some time back.
MuLab has the uniform look, like it has been carefully designed. Beautiful plug-in management (THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! I was the guy originally requesting this, and better fonts...after version 6...all done!)
Super Sonic!

Arguing about MuLab's GUI is like arguing about how Melda plugs look & feel.
It is the design choice of the developers, embrace it if it fits your style. If not, look elsewhere, there should be some stuff out there that appeals to you.
To Grizzellda, MuLab started looking really good at version 7. On a selfish note, I will say I requested a couple of improvements, and so did some other MuLab users. Jo made changes, and it started looking really good to me.
I complained that the fonts were weak looking, and he fixed that. Other users were talking about "shading", the overall look of it. I was not actually paying much attention to this, but now can see it was important. MuLab started looking beautiful at version 7.
Real good.

Alright, if I came off as snide, then I apologize. Truly! and simple!
I know that FL Studio has some great qualities, and you are correct, it is popular, it is designed around loops, and beats, and yeah, Grizzellda gets it, but Grizzellda also feels that MuLab is somewhat cool...perhaps a "contender", if ya like.

i wouldnt be here if mulab was uncool. theres no need to defend mulab when its just criticism in the spirit of making mulab more popular. do you understand? chime in with constructive criticism instead of telling those who criticize with the aim of making mulab more popular to go elsewhere, as is the aim of this thread. do you understand that too? thanks.
