I spent about 20 minutes dialing in the perfect response when applying an X-ADSR to the release stages of envelopes.

Then glanced through the manual and saw that if you enable MPE, release velocity shows up next to velocity in the modulation area, and applies mostly to the same things. It also lets you apply it to envelopes release stage.
Sometimes it pays to read the manual. :dog:

Thanks GForce/Sequential. :tu:

(Now if only they could get RV to their other synths without having to screw around with the X-ADSR's.)

How does it compare to XPanse-5? My XP-5 trial ended a year ago.

Post

how did Expanse-5 compare to a rev 4 P5?

reading the manual is cheating.

They're all good, but this ones just different in a better way to my ears, maybe it's because I've owned the HW synth before and connected with it.This is legit Sequentials Prophet though , they know it as good as anyone could. I love Acusticas Expanse 5 btw, and I won't be selling off the rest of my prophet plugins - acustica,u-he,arturia,softube,cherry audio.
They're all unique in their own ways, besides polydata's presets for Expanse 5 are incredible, I hope he's working on a new set for the Sequential.
But again this is their baby man.. Glad to see the Sequential family finally in the plugin world. I hope they start offering other Dave's Smiths + Sequential designs soon. :tu:

PLS Gforce + Sequential : Now we just need a proper preset converter from the HW to the Plugin ! :phones:

He did some of the factory presets for this one (I think he even has a video showing them), but yeah would be nice if he does a third party bank.

Prophet-6 presets, too. There are so many.

Absolutely I hope they get this done soon.

I really wish KVR defaulted to limiting quotes to one level like other forums I use. But we digress.
People can delete unnecessary quotes but no-one cares. It’s some sort of self-aggrandising polyphony!

I wonder if they will do what they did with Oberheim and fly through a bunch of their different (but similar) models. Maybe there will be a Sequential bundle like the Oberheim bundle.

Post

I think the difference though is that all their oberheim emulations are of oberheim hardware no longer sold or in production.
This Prophet 5 is different.

They made the OB-X8 though, which brought back to OB-X series kind of like the prophet rev4.
And didn't they also bring back the sem and two voice not long ago?

Post

These are the currently sold oberheims.
There is a reason why the software is an ob-x not an ob-x8.
Maybe this synth may change that.
