I'm really surprised there are so many sonar users.
actually surprised there are so many cubase users, too.

Out of pure curiosity...what were you expecting?

Maybe you shouldn't be so surprised at Sonar's increase in popularity over the past year or so. If you look at Computer Music and SOS, you'll notice that they have regular columns now for Sonar. Sales of Sonar have picked up dramatically in Europe.

I think Sonar has increased sales for the following reasons:

1. Not waiting a long time for fixes.

2. Not requiring a dongle.

3. Not requiring special cards and drivers.

4. Not just VST.

5. Not focused on MIDI or Audio only.

Yeah, that perfectly sums up FL Studio (and Tracktion, and Live 4, and, er...probably a lot more). Doesn't it? You were saying?

I'm on Logic 7 (Mac, used to be on 5.5.1 on Windows). I know there are a lot of good alternatives out there, but having used it since '97 I just can't be bothered to switch to anything else. I know, I know, I'm lazy...

Still remember that logic user looking at my FL4.5 and finding it quite usefull ("But has it got real stretching? Hmm, thats a pity. Couldn't they make tha automation a bit easier? Hmm hmm...")

I think this is more a reflection of ppls tastes in workflow than actual software quality.
By the way. What did ever happen to Muzys??????I almost bought that before I foun FL. The shop is still closed?

I'm puzzled about what 'wonderful plugs' you might be reffering to besides S.I.R. and TLs Maximizer.

These are just some off the top of my head. what makes you think that MOST effects don't introduce latency? it's more like about 50/50

yeah - o.k. - you're right but most of them only introduce a few samples - nothing that disturbs me in a mix. (which real drummer plays perfectly in time? )

and you're probably right - I guess it all depends on what music you're making...

- e.g. if you double some programmed kicks with two different drum-vsti's and put a dynamic plugs which introduces even just a small latency after one of them you might have a problem...

but as I'm not doing this kind of doubling it's not an issue for me
