Imagine having 5 small colored buttons along the top of the screen that you could ctrl-click and save your current screen settings, ie width of tracks, order, etc, then at a later time just click the button for the view you want to recall. This way, you could have one view with all your submixes at the top and the width you like, one with just your drum tracks, or vocals etc. It would be dynamic and take care of a lack of mixer for people like me that want to control the order of what they are viewing, and also play a similar role of folder tracks. The best thing is is would probably be relatively simple to implement. More so than a new mixer or real folder tracks.

The really good thing is it wouldn't require T to change the basic way it works now, and you would be able to do it on the fly easily during the course of a project.

nope - a mixer is what's needed most!

yes, proper automation would be a nice start to catch up with the competition!

I'm not talking about different mixes, but different ways to view the same mix. It would only be for views, not arrangements (which is what edits are for AFAIK).PT wrote:I like the snapshot idea.
It would allow you to make different mixes to try different things and then have a way to instantly switch
from one to another for comparison.
