I see you're keen on finding good deals on software and sales. We've already mentioned that it would be best to wait for a sale if the update price seems too high for you. Reiterating this issue repeatedly isn't very productive. Also, if you're hoping to speak with our CEO, please understand that he's currently prioritizing other responsibilities and is not available.JonSolo wrote: Thu Jan 04, 2024 4:20 am I'm out till I hear from George. Best wishes. Enjoying my $39 Gforce Axxess with 4 free sound packs. Oh, and still enjoying the quality Discovery Pro 7.9. Call me when something "new" hits.

No shill, chill. I am indeed trolling you amigos, this is a very good synth if you want that early 2000 digital sound, no doubt about that. You can clearly hear and feel the uniqueness of this synth if you focus on the right things.
Furthermore, the architecture is in my opinion perfect, not too much, not too little. Quality over quantity.
The developer has the right to price his products as they wish to do it.
Arturia recently upgraded to V collection X for a ridiculous price IMO for what you get, as to say barely nothing. I’m not here to complain nontheless, let’s see what’s next you know.
A post in a forum became the court of miracles. Then you ask why the developer answers with AI. What do you think?
No one forces you to buy anything.

This thread is getting really hilarious.
The real point is that for the vast majority of us It's not a money thing or a too high update price.
The fact is that they are charging ten times then they used before for an update that is worth little or nothing.
The robotic answer of Disco is also the cherry on top.
The part about CEO "not available" like we are talking with a multi-millionaire company with thousand of employees knocked me out of my chair.
In my company we have a girl to handle the relationship with the public.
If I read answers like that, I'd fire her right away
Mad world.

This is such an entertaining thread...
I think that it's time to stock up on the popcorn...
The robotic replies are funking hilarious and the boring, monotonous and politically correct dribble that it is spewing out,is shining a bad light on the company and doing quite a lot of damage to an already fragile reputation
No auto tune...

How about 'pay what you want'? Some people in this Thread are not cheap. They could easily offset the few trolls who would pay nothing for the upgrade. Everyone would be happy then.

Of course I was complaining, but not relentlessly crying about price. When a thing if properly made, it can cost any price. If you find flaws in it you can complain.autodafe wrote: Thu Jan 04, 2024 9:57 am

What can you reproach to Discovery Pro? Soundwise and GUIwise? Nothing in my opinion. It is a finished product, contained within itself, nothing is spilling or overflowing anywhere, everything is in place.
Find another plugin with that vision behind it.
Arturia have good DSP behind a messy and coarse interface, a lot of companies make products that are flawed at some point. I find that Discovery Pro is one of the few products that feels finished. Look at GF Axxes and then look at Discovery Pro.

We are submerged by questionable design nowadays. When a product is contained within itself and legitimately radiate what it is, it's a win for me. Very few digital products today succeed in this. Complaining about price is turning our backs at the things that really matters.

so you are comparing them just for their GUIs ?
I have nothing to complain about sound quality in Disco7, I admit they made a nice job on the GUI as well, but again, that would not justify an update price which is nearly 50% of the new price...

We would like to clarify that our previous major updates were priced in the range of $39 to $49. The current update represents approximately a 25% off in the total discount. Some of the individuals expressing dissatisfaction here may have acquired Discovery Pro through reseller promotions or at a discounted rate a few years ago, which could potentially lead to frustration. Additionally, it's possible that there are users who are not discoDSP customers and are participating in this thread for reasons other than providing genuine feedback.charlesalbert wrote: Thu Jan 04, 2024 9:47 am The fact is that they are charging ten times then they used before for an update that is worth little or nothing.

I am comparing who has a vision with the others. Nothing against GF, they are indeed an iconic company, I like them a lot, just let’say that I’m not particularly excited with Axxes.autodafe wrote: Thu Jan 04, 2024 10:36 amso you are comparing them just for their GUIs ?

Talking about Axxes because someone mentioned it just before.
Paradoxally DiscoDsp seems much more less money grabbers asking for a high update price than 80% of digital audio companies of today.
At least they respect their work and doesn’t chase easy money.

Reminds me of what a dev who had that kind of price model once said. His plugin was donationware, and, he said that 1 out of a 1.000 people who download it actually donate something for the plugin.Aloysius wrote: Thu Jan 04, 2024 10:11 am How about 'pay what you want'? Actually, $75 is a 50% increase on $49, and a 87% increase on $39.discoDSP wrote: Thu Jan 04, 2024 10:51 amWe would like to clarify that our previous major updates were priced in the range of $39 to $49. Thanks for pointing up. To clarify:
Previous update price: From $149, around $100 discount.
Current update price: From $149, around $75 discount.
Discount has decreased by approximately 25-30%.
