It's always higher than the conversion Google lists, but apparently that's the embedded conversion fee.mgw38 wrote:I always felt that the conversion rate Paypal uses is on the high end but I might be wrong. If you paid $115 they are pretty close to the actual conversion rate.

just taking the google rate cold can be a little misleading given there is a margin between the buy rates and sell rates for any currency.

The best place for the actual market rate is http://www.xe.com
But you will obviously never get that exactly since whoever is doing the exchange will charge you conversion fees. You can only avoid the foreign transaction fees. Is a first world problem though.

Anyone think Ableton will come out with a major release version in the next two months? It's been years since 9 came out. See here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ableton_Live
And more importantly, does anyone know if they give a free update to anyone who purchased within let's say 90 or 120 days of a major release like Cubase does? I'm trying to decide on when to pull the trigger on buying an update from 8 Suite to 9 Suite.
I'm thinking the best value will be doing it this way rather than waiting for the new version to drop first, no?
And they traditionally offer a discount around Black Friday or so I believe. My cost to upgrade from 8 suite to 9 suite for the last two years has been $224 vs the regular $299 pricing. But I've passed both times.
Just bought a Push and got an additional $50 off. So it's $249 to update for me right now.
Trying to decide when to buy. Need 9 for the Push. Got 30 day trial for the moment.

Ableton Live 9.7 is in beta if you didn't know and it'll be free AFAIK. It could drop at any minute. No idea about version 10, but I have a feeling it won't be free and will have big changes -- for the better, of course.Rational wrote:Trying to decide when to buy. Need 9 for the Push. I have an extra Live Lite license. PM me if you want to buy or trade for it.

Thanks. Yeah, I knew 9.7b was just released. Was meaning a free upgrade to 10. 10 being a major release.
So do they jump unannounced to 10 do you think? Or it will be awhile until 10 hits? Like Spring or summer next year?
I joined the 9 beta group this week, but they won't allow me to activate it because I only own 8.
So I have to buy 9 sometime in the next 30 days in order to use my new push, or just try and wait and buy 10 when it comes out eventually. But I suspect it'll be even higher to purchase the upgrade then if I do so.

I honestly have no idea and wouldn't want to speculate. I would expect Ableton to have a reasonable policy and not screw you over.Rational wrote:So do they jump unannounced to 10 do you think? Or it will be awhile until 10 hits? Like Spring or summer next year?.

Sent support request earlier to rectify and got no response from jrrshop.
Mvploops then provided another license that turned out to be NFR after I registered in iLok account.
I need a regular license for it if you're listening Uncle E.
Can you send pm or email with valid commercial license?
he'll take care of you, relax. No need to make this public issue, but if it makes you feel better so be it.

Thanks telecharge. I'd hope they would too. But they wouldn't reply to my question on if they offer a 'recent purchaser' type option when I asked. They did say they don't give out advance info on upcoming releases. So I was curious if anyone remembers from past releases what they did and for how long.
And Uncle E, I'd also be interested if Spitfire did a deal on Albion One. I saw someone asking about it earlier in the thread. +1 from me if you can make something happen.

WTF???? I'm not that kind of person who gets upset easily, and I actually have a favor for gallows humor most of the time, but this is too much for me. People have already died because of that hurricane, maybe more will still die, thousands have lost or will be loosing their homes, etc. 'Honoring' this with a sale has nothing to do with humor IMO. It's stupid, dismissive, and so far from common sense that I actually cannot believe esoundz did this.Numanoid wrote:First time I have heard about a hurrican sale
We are hunkering down for the full arrival of Hurricane Matthew here at the http://www.eSoundz.com headquarters in South Florida. Extra food and water from the grocery store, gas in the cars, emergency supplies at the ready. Of course while our offices are physically located in Florida -- and we hope they will still be here after the storm passes -- the true home of eSoundz is in cyberspace, and we will continue regardless of the storm's impact.
But enough about us. It may be gallows humor, but we've just launched a Hurricane Sale with 6 of our favorite products for 75% OFF or more, until 11:59 PM, Sunday, October 9:
-Miroslav Refill Gold Bundle for Reason: MSRP $199 / Sale $49
-Ultra Refill Gold for Reason: MSRP $199 / Sale $49
-Complete Style Collection for Stylus RMX: MSRP: $249 / Sale $59

Does anyone have any experience with the Infinite Player? Can the sounds from this set be used outside of the player?
Thanks
