Don't worry about it.otristan wrote:I was talking about BPM for strange issue. Sorry about the confusion.
But, we will have to call this software "UVI Player 2.0" in future:P

I will be curious to try 2.0. I bought a few UVI libs years back and rarely use them anymore, not because they don't sound great, but I always found the UVI interface to be slow and clumsy at trying to go quickly through presets. I hope that 2.0 is an improvement.

UVI Workstation 2 has been posted for a few days at:
http://www.uvisoundsource.com/article_i ... icles_id=8
I downloaded it and was very disappointed to find that the amp envelopes, filter envelopes, lfos, and other controls had been removed (that were in UVI Workstation 1.1.7). I sincerely hope there's a plan to put them back in or else lots of my libraries (like Synth Anthology) will lose a lot of functionality under v. 2.

Olivier,
Are there any plans to add the editing functions ( envelopes, lfos, modulation, etc. ) back into UVI Workstation 2? Or should we continue using v.1.1.7 for this functionality? Is it possible to use both v.1.1.7 and v.2.0 on the same system for the time being?
Thanks,
Mark

Just tried the uvi v2 and i can't believe the edit functions have been removed. In this case it's not an update, it's a cutdown... I think it's a bug. You neither can't change the output for the sounds... And the new gui is not that clear. With no edition available it's a big step back, imo, making me looking elsewhere for future sound banks.

I like the browser better. I can now preview through the sounds quicker.

+1, I also like the way Beat Box Anthology shows a picture of each Drum Machine the samples are taken from, I'm wondering if synths anthology is the same, but I haven't downloaded the UFS update,quantum7 wrote:I like the browser better. I can now preview through the sounds quicker.
Alot of the editing features seem hidden, took a little while to sus it out...
I'm happy so far, the install did overwrite the earlier version though, so I couldn't compare.
Looks and feels better...

Hi,
With UVI Workstation 2 we have focused on making it simpler, efficient and
stable. Thanks to the new macro-knobs and scripting features, the new
generation of UVI libraries will not need the old "edit" page. This will be
much more convenient for simple and musical use.
We understand this could be seen as "cut-down" for some of our long-time
users, and that's why we have a very special update plan for them to get
MOTU MachFive 3. Here are the conditions :
- You need to have bought 199$+ of UVI product before December 1st 2011
- You need to contact us at support@uvi.net
You can get a full version of MachFive 3 for $249 (excluding shipping).
MachFive 3 allow full editing of UVI soundbanks and will be the greatest way to get the most modular and powerful sampler and synth workstation.

Please download it back.
It now works fine and can be accessed using the multi view and click the "expert" button in the Multi header

You can't use 1.1.7 and 2.0.0 version at the same time.marsrock wrote: Is it possible to use both v.1.1.7 and v.2.0 on the same system for the time being?

Thanks for the clarification Olivier. I have a few more questions..
1. Will the 1.1.7 version continue to be available and supported for users who choose not upgrade and still want the editing features?
2. Are there plans to upgrade the Racks feature in BPM similar to UVI Workstation 2.0? Will this "cut down" down the current editing features?
Thanks,
Mark

1.1.7 will continue to be available but it will not be supported (no updates and some future product may not work on it).marsrock wrote: 1. Will the 1.1.7 version continue to be available and supported for users who choose not upgrade and still want the editing features?
If you got some trouble with it, tech support will be happy to help you though.
There is currently no plan to update the Rack feature of BPM.marsrock wrote: 2. Are there plans to upgrade the Racks feature in BPM similar to UVI Workstation 2.0? Will this "cut down" down the current editing features?

Hope this answers your questions.
