If I remember correctly, getting it to work may have had something to do with removing the "!" symbol from the name: if I look at the .big file now in my applications folder it is just "Xpand2.big" (I am using a Mac, not sure how it works for PC users).
Wow - thanks. I tried again (not sure that I actually did anything different) apart from checking that the PACE service was running. Anyway, this time it got scanned by the DAW, picked up, activated, then, as you suggested, had trouble finding the factory content because it wasn't expecting the file name to have an exclamation mark in. Problem sorted. :tu:

Had a little play and it reminds me a bit of the Korg M1 or something - could be useful, you never know. I suppose I might look at the bundle now. The only thing that interests me much is Loom though. Thanks a lot though!

Anyone know if spitfireaudio is doing the Black Friday thing anymore. Searching Google I discovered they did in 2014. Did they participate in 2015? Anyone know if they will this year and what they typically offer?

Same question for NI, Ableton, audiobro and cinesamples. Thanks.

I took advantage of a holiday thing from Spitfire last year, and with the coming of Albion V it's probable. Whenever they have something new just about to come out this time of year, it's quite likely they'll give us a deal on the older stuff. I know I wouldn't mind grabbing Chamber Strings...just not at that (!) price. Too much. I'm lucky though, I already have all the Albions, Komplete Ultimate 10, and the East West libraries, so I'm not hurting at all when it comes to strings. I can pretty much pick and choose when and if to buy.
Ha ha suck it!

Cool. Thanks. I just got a 30% student discount coupon for Albion One and HZ-01. Now I'm wondering if they'll allow me to combine that with the upcoming sales? :P

Still trying to decide when to upgrade to Live 9 Suite, and K11U. Timing is everything...

Edit: By the way, anyone heard of this orchestral library yet? I like how it sounds. Sweet and quaint. Developer seems like he's striving all on his own mostly. Thinking I'll pick it up tomorrow before the sales ends on the 16th over at kontakthub.

I also found this cool cymbal rolls instrument. Kind of cool. This available in other paks already?

Yow, that's great re the EDU! Very cool for you! As far as K11U...I definitely want Reaktor 6 (Blocks might be worth the price all by itself), and Emotive Strings sounds really interesting. I will wait until there's a holiday sale for us upgraders.

Thanks. I'm trying to wait too. I've got a $25 voucher right now with NI, but am wondering if they'll give out a $50 one for the holidays plus discounts?

And definitely listen to the soundcloud samples of that Versilian Studios Pro library. I keep listening to them because they're so soothing. So well done. Not a big loud library like so many. I could see this being used for stuff like Cinderella and old time cues and commercials. Quaint.

It wouldn't surprise me on the discount. I'm checking out the VSP today, thanks! As far as those particular cues...it's possible Albion V covers at least some of that. And you've got that discount.

That said, I'd recommend getting ALL the Albions leading up, then decide. I have them all and for me Loegria is more than great for that more quiet, subtle sound. I'll pass on V.

K11/K11U upgrade/crossgrade sale is likely early summer next year, as far as I can see in the historic data. If you are willing to wait, that'll be the timing.

The Komplete release dates:
K6 2009/09
K7 2010/08
K8 2011/09
K9 2013/03
K10 2014/10
K11 2016/09

Upgrade/crossgrade sales:
2010/07
2012/07
2013/12
2014/06
2015/06
2016/03

If you have a small number of specific libraries in mind, this BF NI may have individual instruments on sale.

Little off topic but to my experience, practically NI vouchers have no good use, short of merchandises such as T-Shirts or caps on their web shop any more. :-P

I use the LDC Cymbal Rolls all the time. Great instrument. Wish he would do a timpani version.

They seem to usually do Introductory Sales for new products and End Of Life Sales for old products.

They also offered at least twice in the last months discounts for items on your wish list on their website.

Thanks Uncle E and ryan. I appreciate the input back very much.
Thanks emanon for the historical data. I was wondering about that. Perfect.
Laura, I picked up the cymbal rolls. Also grabbed VSL. Took two days to download. Will try it in a few days.
Heading back to work tomorrow. No more vacation time for me. Used up my last two weeks of vacation cleaning up the studio and shopping with you guys. lolz. It's been fun.

Keeping my pennies at the ready for the upcoming sales on the above items. Let's see what they offer... :)

No idea why I quoted myself. Not intentional.
