I just bought it too. Been waiting for it to hit $29 bucks. Thank you guys for the code! The PLUGINDAY20 code is a sweet deal.

Thank you.

mladi wrote:If you going to buy the Synth Anthology II upgrade maybe you want to grab one of the Falcon extension for 19€ instead of 39€ with their TREAT20 coupon! ;)
So mladi posted this in the bargains thread. Does this mean Falcon extensions can be used in Synth Anthology II? Or am I misunderstanding? I don't own Falcon yet.

Edit: I checked their Falcon extensions page. They're only for Falcon. So he's just saying if you're already spending $50 and you already own Falcon, you might want to add on an extension and use the code TREAT20 and save $20 bucks on an extension. Good tip.

Sadly I don't own Falcon yet. But it looks powerful. I'll have to add it to my list!

No, you can't use falcon extensions within synth anthology ii.

Synth anthology ii runs inside of falcon or in the free UVI workstation, so many of the buyers will be buying it to run inside of Falcon.

the TREAT20 code can be used for purchases over $/€79 but excluding synth anthology ii (on its own).

So if you were buying that, anything else you bought would then allow the discount to be added, so you could add a falcon extension and then the total would qualify for the treat20's $/€ 20 discount.

If you bought something else to take it over $ / € 149 total then you can use the TREAT50 code to save € / $ 50.

even outside of the upgrade, you could go either of these ways:

synth anthol ii = € / $ 99
synth anthol ii + falc ext = 99 + 39 - 20 = € / $ 118
synth anthol ii + falc ext + falc ext = 99 + 39 + 39 - 50 = € / $ 127

it's not limited to falcon extensions - the same logic would apply to anything that brings the total over the $/€ 79 / 149 thresholds for the codes.

Exactly that Rational. You could of course buy the Extension yet for just 19€ and use it when you get Falcon hopefully soon.

Hmm, this is quite intriguing. What is the general consensus around the Waves NX plugin? Is it pretty effective? I do have studio monitors and a decent enough room, but I do a lot of work on my laptop. Wondering if this will help be able to do some actual mixing on the go, which I never do because I just take things back to my studio.

Thoughts? That price seems great after the coupon.

It's worth getting the demo of it and trying it for yourself.

I did that when it first came out and liked it enough to buy it.

Really weird thing though, and I guess this could be psychoacoustic, but I prefer the sound of nx in logic rather than in ableton live.

And it seems you might need the hardware that comes with it when you buy the bundle.

That a brand new plug like this, can already be had for $29, goes to show it didn't actually set the market alight

seems like you're confusing two separate things.

"nx virtual mix room" came out first and uses the your computer's camera for head tracking and is the $49 offer plugin ($29 if you used the $20 discount code).

http://www.waves.com/plugins/nx#introdu ... l-mix-room

that doesn't need the head tracker - that came out after and did the kickstarter thing.

Post

Yet this page states: "Use the plugin with the Nx Head Tracker for enhanced realism" so I wonder how much realism you lose when not using that hardware.

Post

Yeah, maybe, but still it is a new plug released in 2016, costing regularly $99 from Waves, that can be had for $29

The NX plugin doesn't do frequency correction (to compensate for the frequency response of the headphones). What it does is make it seem like you're listening to your mix on speakers in an ideal 3D environment (though not on ideal speakers - it's limited by the quality of the headphones). It's kind of uncanny at first, but I like it.

Thanks. I'll probably try the demo, but at the moment I'm having terrible allergies running all the way through my ears and honestly, can't hear a whole lot, lol. Since the deal is time limited, just thought I would ask.

And I know somebody mentioned needing the piece of hardware, but as was pointed out, that isn't necessary. And I am looking for a bargain purchase for a plugin that wasn't even on my radar until mentioned here. So I would be getting the plugin only.
