What is the implication here? Will we, the mac users, now have to wait again for months to receive what you promised already months ago???
No, that is not correct, the windows and mac application get updated simultaneously now, the Mac environment and installation procedure has to be setup so that both can be updated at the same time.

Does anyone here know how to get the internal patches change by midi program change?

Program change is set to "Patch" in the main menu, as it should. It works in the VFX software, but not in the V-Machine, nor does the midi feedback. I've got the newest firmware installed. Any idea?

Program change works for the Presets when switched to "Program Change: Presets" in the main menu, but it doesn't for the internal patches when set to "Program Change: Patch". Am I doing something wrong?

Looking forward to understand the future upgrade :hyper: I'd like to warn SMPROAUDIO guys.

Musebox is gonna realease in late spring or early summer of 2009, and it will allow to play instruments like Ivory (actually a dream for THIS V-Machine).
It'll have a super-rock soft, it seems it'll be much more powerful (until this so waited upgrade) and arguably is gonna be the greatest competitor of the V-Machine.

In my opinion many of your potential customers could turn their attention towards this new product.

Hurry up guys, hurry up 8)

Let me recap. Windows version did not improve for weeks. Why? Because Mac version was expected for December and had to be "finalised". What? Mac beta is out, but not working what I would call somewhat reliable at all.* Now, since Windows users shout loud again (for very good reasons), Mac users have to wait again "two weeks" (note: this is sarcasm ;-))? Unbelievable.

Hell Jesus. I never ever experienced this kind of crap when I bought anything. I already requested a return from my dealer (unlucky guys there, they are suffering as well !).

... and out !!!

*Please do not ask me why I did not open a ticket. I purchased a product for quite a lot of money, and I do not want to pay more, meaning wasting my time to fulfill YOUR obligations.
 Yes, dude, this is really incredible :(

I dont want to be a beta tester anymore for this piece of ....

I guess the only way is to write user reports at forums and pages such as Harmony Central warning other users not to buy this VM. :bang:

the calibration of expectations maintains the state of satisfaction.

one might be best to put a relative chronological date on v-machines power, perhaps 1995-98 and figure that plugins available at that time are of the right power demands.

indeed other companies will release more things in future dates, sm pro has other things planned too.

but if youre goin to the gig tonight and you wanna use plugins that fit the bill, and they dont ALL suck after all, v-machine is there right now and for people who arent trying to do more than it can its a justified piece of gear.

like the old saying "get me someone half as good that shows up on time".

Various gui and functional fixes.

.......
I miss in the update:
* The VFX Application size and position. For me it's just a little too big, 95% of the actual size will fit my monitor, or a maximize button. Also it would be great that the program remembers its last position.

* Import/export to stick the whole machine on the V-Machine, not on the VFX Application. Otherwise the edits on the V-M (learn, save...) can be overwriten and should always be redone. Or, in other words, there's actually no way to know if the V-Machine and the VFX application have the same plugs, banks and presets loaded.

* Access to a LOG file from the V-M. It will help to know why a plugin loads in the VFX but not in the V-M. Otherwise we are blind here.

* Midi transpose implemented. I hope you don't want us to use a Midi-plugin just to do something that the V-M should do by itself.

What's this? will the V-Machine perform better with this?

i need midi tranpose, save global data.

I was very lucky that the music store where I bought my V-Machine understood my frustration with clipping and features that I feel are or should be just a part of a professional piece of gear. I want to say that the support people for SM Pro Audio are really great and they worked very hard to satisfy my demands for what is essentially a really stripped down version of a Receptor at a much reduced price. That cheaper cost came at a very high price in terms of being able to use the machine effectively though.
Yes, there were plugins that worked great and the Machine handled them very well even if there was no midi program change and some of the architecture was getting the way of ever using it live. The plugins I really bought the V-Machine for I feel wouldn't have worked due to the underpowered cpu and who can afford plugins when you're told that besides the cost of the V-Machine you really need to invest in a fast external harddrive also? The V-Machine rack version is supposed to have a beefier cpu and hopefully some much needed changes like the first plugin not pre-loading automatically making it time consuming and clumsy getting to the patches you really need. Other needed changes have been mentioned on here also and I believe that SM will implement these eventually but in the meantime..I've got a Receptor due in today. Sometimes you just have to figure the overall value vs. cost ratio and for right now the Receptor ( I wish I could've waited for the MuseBox!)to me is the best value.
Keyboards make guitar players look silly....

I figure it's even better value to make your own PC (the componemts are cheap these days) and make it into a rack, and install audio optimized winXP, plus your fav plugins and Brainspawn Forte. No problems with compatibility, wizard files, 'receptorized' versions, etc.

And most plugins are running VERY satisfactory on a 2 GHz Intel Core2Duo. You can also cut the cost even more and go with AMD. Losing some of the performance for less power consumption and less heat=quieter operation.
